Yes, we all know it's much better to support the democrats and keep expanding the welfare state to keep poor minorities dependent on the government. The democrats got mad when they couldn't own slaves anymore, so instituted social slavery through government dependence.

Yea, the democrats got so mad that blacks could vote, they changed to the republican party.

The black community is not as dumb as the GOP may think, a Clarance Thomas and a Michele Steele is going to have little appeal to them. They know how to tell the difference between a useless Uncle Tom phony and a real brother or a sister.

This has got to be one of the most bigoted and culturally ignorant statements I have read in a long time. What in the hell is a "brother" and a "sister"? I didn't realize that for someone to be "black" they had to be a "brother" or a "sister." You need to go outside and meet some real people.

Well he is a liberal..

When you look at the demographics, supporting a party that favors massive tax cuts for the rich and cuts in social support for the neediest make little sense for most black people. I think that's all he's saying.

Not all blacks are poor. From appearances (I don't have any numbers or clue to back this up), blacks seem to have a bigger divide between poor and rich than white people. If rich white people can be republicans, so can rich black people.

Not to mention that those in the military probably identify closer with their military brothers than anything else, and republican is as much the party of the military as the democrats are the party of the poor.

Allen West spoke at my school, to juniors and seniors, around 40 kids. I thought he was amazing and if I was 18, i'd vote for him for congress.

He brought up many points on how we rely on china and realizes the bond needed with israel.

!8 year old kids do not vote, Allen West has to sell his package to mature adults who have been deceived before.

Agreed, Obama has fooled the people once, and won't again.

West is not cut from the same cloth in any case. He speaks his mind without Obama's typical political prevarication.

If you are 18 by the time the November election rolls around - be sure to register and vote!

PJABBER, have you ever heard the old saying, don't count your chickens before they are hatched?

The roar of the crowd you are hearing may only be in your own head, as for me, I think I will wait and see.

The one certain commonality of the "progressives" that post here is their love of racial distinctions.

Where the vast majority of Americans are color blind, the "liberals" never take off their tinted racist glasses.

Even as liberals ALWAYS differentiate people by the color of their skin, they also do not accept any divergence from the social welfare/big government mantra that has been responsible for keeping "favored" racial groups in a state of perpetual government dependency.

Rather than valuing the political and economic philosophies that have economically and politically empowered so many in the history of the country, the surest roads to pride and empowerment - entrepreneurship, education and intact family life - are denigrated by "liberals" and "progressives." Only government dependencies are "politically correct."

The racist perspective of liberals mandates their requirement that all people who are "not-white" must be supporters of the far left and big government. If they are not, they are castigated as Uncle Toms and traitors in the race war liberals are so fond of fomenting.

The "liberals" and the "progressives" do not value any independent thought by the "colored" underclass. For all intents and purposes, by espousing their soft bigotry of low expectations, by their institutionalizing race and class distinctions, they are the true successors to the KKK in intent as well as in historical fact.

Damned spot on, well said.

The sounds of a desperation peddler; sweet they sound to an ear that listens....

😀

What roar? I am merely considering the polls and some likely events that are set to occur in advance of the November elections.

I am also considering the quality of the candidates that each Party is fielding and how they are being funded.

The voters are increasingly likely to backlash against the Obama Administration, the Congressional Democrats and even against Republicans that have not shown enough independence.

The last few special elections have been a harbinger. Those coming up will be as well -

Georgia 9th May 11, 2010

Pennsylvania 12th May 18, 2010

Hawaii 1st May 22, 2010

It should be very interesting.

Perhaps it is not about race?

But is the GOP offering anything different than the same policies that got the country in the mess it is now?

I do not have the best memory but I do remember where the US was on 1/20/2009.

Lets use the Wayback machine:
1. The economy was in the worst economic crisis since the 1930's.
2. The US was fighting two wars,
3. The US was facing huge federal budget deficits.
4. The GOP had suddenly became fiscal conservatives who were advocating cutting Federal government spending which would pushed the economy off the cliff.

Filter out the GOP hyperbole about Mr Obama and ask yourself do you really want the GOP and Karl Rove back in power.

Read the whole article- you'll understand why only cherry picked excerpts were offered in the OP-

32 candidates in the Repub primaries. It remains to be seen if they'll be their party's candidates in the general election, or if their fellow republicans will vote for them enthusiastically, or if they can actually win.

Righties are trying to bandwagon discontent into victory, even though it was their own policies that created the circumstances of discontent.

and the new crowd who believes in his ideals, like me.

How many of them will actually win is what is most telling about Republicans.

Michael Steele seems like a decent guy, but look how hated he is by grassroots Republicans. Why is that? Here's a hint. The people who supported apartheid in this country are still alive, and they're Republicans. They didn't disappear when we passed the Civil Rights Act.

What about where the country was on 1/20/2007 when the Democrats took over Congress - you know, the branch that spends the money, crafts the bills*, makes the laws?

The best would be a very fiscally conservative, socially liberal independent president and a GOP Congress. Second best would be a Democrat president and a GOP Congress. Third best would be a Republican president and a GOP Congress. And the absolute worst (albeit by a hair) would be a Democrat president and a Democrat Congress.

* Alright - the branch that has its lobbyists craft the bills.

You stopped reading too soon - Hellspawn roaming the Earth was number four. LOL

I wouldn't mind that. At least they'd get shit done. :awe:

The Republican is going to win in Hawaii because two DEMOCRATS will split the majority of the vote
