Coolest conversion I saw was an 80s Lotus Esprit with a 350 in it. Not entirely sure what all was done to the motor, but it sounded like a full-scale ground invasion.
There was a guy in Omaha that had a Karmann Ghia with some Oldsmobile V8 in the back. 440 or 460 or something like that, can't recall for sure. I've got pics of it somewhere at home.
I saw a Fiero going up the road with V8 stickers on it and a scoop/snorkel coming out of the back and reaching up over the top of the roof. When he was sitting at a red light he was really loping like he had a hell of a cam in there too.
I always thought a neat swap out would be to put a Grand National motor in a Fiero.
