About the same.

Proof?

Google? Hah, what do you mean proof?

I'm not googling poop, You're lazy arse should go do it yourself and report the pathetic 15sec 1/4 times of most of those except the NSX and the Turbo counterpart.s

Did you miss the part where he mentioned the NSX? NSXs cost about twice what a Supra cost brand new
He's not looking at brand new cars... and I didn't know brand new NSX's went for over $100,000 in the mid 90's. Anyway, a '93 NSX will probably go for the same amount as a 93 Supra Twin Turbo 6speed (depending on the mileage).

Actually I did know... NSX went for about $70,000 while the Supra went for about $50,000. Hardly twice as much. On the road course the NSX is probably the better choice... but on the street the Supra will dominate.

You, pmac, need to get your facts straight before spewing off nonsense.

I for one own a 1987 Corvette which is even older than what was suggested. In stock form with well over 100k miles on the clock it turned 13.89 @ 98.17 in the 1/4 and 0-60 was easily in the low 5s.

When the car was in stock form with its measily 211hp & 315 ft/lb at the rear wheels (Flywheel: 255hp & 380 ft/lb) it never met a stock 300ZX (N/A & TT), NSX, 3000GT and Mark IV Supra it couldn't handle on the street or strip. Out of those selections the Mark IV Supra would be best match and be coming onto my back bumper around the 1/4, but I'd still edge it out. If it were a 1/2 mile race it'd win by a carlength or two.

Right now C4 prices are in the toilet. One can pick one up in great shape for way less than $17k (Less than $10k for 84-87 models). They are by far the best bang for the buck going right now for a vehicle that does well in all street/drag/autox/road race conditions.

Anybody who goes by magazine stats is in for a sore dose of reality when they actually get out onto the street/strip and see things in person.

Magazine racers.

I don't go buy quarter mile times listed, it's a good thing for comparing...but I've been to the track enough to know that nearly no one ever gets the quarter miles that magazines may show. Then again, there are few with very very little done (tires/air filter) that can do magazine times or better. But normally, engine wear, clutch life, transmission, climate, etc all make a car perform worse/better.

For example, many people in eclipses run 14lbs of boost or more and still can't even pull a low 15 on the track. Ofcourse, DSM's aren't really the most reliable car in the first place.

Feel free to talk about stock Supras all you want. Fact is, they don't exist. The car comes from the factory detuned... less than $1000 will bring the engine from the stock 350hp (yeah, it was underrated) to 500hp... that's pretty attractive to Supra owners. Also, by "rickety" I meant that the reliablity, fit and finish, and interior of the C4 is weak compared to the Japanese GT Cars.

I can't tell if you're replying to me or not, but those figures I gave would be Corvettes with well under 100k miles.

Thanks, I will. You're now comparing apples to oranges when you change the playing field.
Nope. Race what ya brung. You won't see many stock Supras at the drag strip.

You're such a keyboard racer it isn't funny. I can now understand your 1.55 user rating. You cannot compare a list of vehicles for possible purchase and then pass judgement on one in modified form compared to the others. Yeah no s*** it is run what you brung once you get the damn thing. That would be why my car now makes over 500hp & 600 ft/lb, but from a buyer's standpoint you have to start with what ya got and go from there. You could easily say the 300ZX-TT or an NSX-T could blow the Supra out of the water as well with your thinking if you'd like to skew it even more.

Well, the #1 reason why people buy Supras is that they are incredibly easy to modify. I don't think you understand this. The 300ZX can not blow the Supra out of the water. There are more 11-second Supras on stock twins than 300ZX's. Also, the lowest ET on a stock twin Supra (11.10x no nos) is lower than the lowest 300ZX on stock twins. When you start factoring in upgraded turbos and such, the Supra's advantage rises exponentially. As for an NSX-T.. lol... I laugh at anyone wanting to turbocharge an NSX to compete with a Supra in straight line performance. Come on now...

Oh, you're cool because your car has 500 or whatever hp.. I don't know how this factors into the argument but congrats

I'm thinking of telling them to piss off, my cars are faster than their N/A versions of sports cars anyway. While mine don't handle as well, their cars are sort of like the v6 mustang compared to a v8 mustang... Just a cheap way to have a car they wish they had.

The NSX would be a '90-'94 or so model, I don't need to spend all my money on a damn car 😛

Thats a pretty stupid reason to buy a new car, just to impress your friends. I also think you're full of it since you're supposedly a college student and you just got out of jail for 'gang violence'. Why don't you stop trying to impress people with your lies and just be yourself, nobody here cares if you went to college, went to jail, or if you ride a moped to work and back as long as you're honest.

The thing is he's not buying any of the turbo or high end versions of any of those cars. Only the NSX doesn't have any variants. The non turbo Supras run High 15s, and the regular 3000GT runs low 16's.
They make ok power for such small enignes but they are still heavy!

Also the point I was trying to make was put up or shut up!

Reality!!

It factors in because you came off spouting info like you're a modification wizard and I should bow down to your intellect. I'm letting you know that I'm not another 16 y/o internet chump who saw in a magazine one time that all cars painted red are cool and will go on forever saying that all red cars are better than anything else.

I came off spouting like a Supra wizard because I am. You just don't understand these cars... chump!

This thread is a bad joke, but I'd get the Supra since I already own one of the older turbos and love it. Unforunately, it costs way more than it's worth to me, and is all too commonly associated with groups like your idiot buddies.

It's people like you that give car enthusiaist a bad name.
The supra is a great car, it really is, bullet-proof enigne, and you're right about the fit and finish. But it's somewhat a bad race/drag car. Half of what you said was out of your arse or someone told you it out of theirs. I have met and SEEN people with 800hp Supras doing 10's and 11's. Know why? Because Supras suck at putting that power to the ground! Also on a road course I'd rather get Corvette, it sticks and all it's power is usable. But I'm being a little biased, I prefer road tracks to the strip.

Also I've seen a SC NSX do 9's....But no proof of that yet because I haven't seen it since, but he probably poured a lot of money into it.

Oh and as for Supras being chick magnets...if you want a lot of asian girls. And IMHO a Supra looks plain without a bodykit and some different rims.
