Hey,

I have a Bestec ATX-300-12E 300 Watt Power Supply. I was wondering if this power suppy unit will be able to handle a XFX GeForce 6600GT 128MB DDR3 AGP 8X video card. I don't have enough money to spend for a new power supply unit. Just enough for the video card.

Here are my system specs:

CPU - AMD Athlon XP-A Barton 3000+
RAM - Samsung 512MB PC2700
Motherboard - FIC K7M-NF18G (AU31)
Hard Drive - Hitachi Global Storage Industries 160MB 7200RPM
Video card - Asus v9520-X TD GFX-5200 128MB DDR 8xAGP
Power Supply - Bestec ATX-300-12E 300 Watt
CD-ROM - DVD/CD ROM // CD-RW ROM
Other - Digital Media Manager (Memory Cards / Flash Cards)

My PSU rails right now:

CPU Core - 1.58V
CPU +3.3 - 3.25V
+5V - 4.78V
+12V - 11.39V
+5 Standy - 4.87V

Looks like you might have some issues w/ the 12V rail but 6600GTs are not that power hungry so you might be able to get away w/ it, I couldn't tell you for sure w/out knowing the specs on the rails for your powersupply.

shell out 39.99 for a cooler master 350 watt PSU. The thing is made for high end systems... its too bad not too many people realize that Cooler Master makes solid products. I would say the typical advice of "get an ANTEC" or "Thermaltake" or "Enermax" but let me tell you it's a good power supply and is not faulty at all. The power on the rails is not too low but its sufficient enough to supply a video card. In other words, this is a quality PSU for a low low price at newegg.com.

btw I use this PSU with my 6800GT... All works fine. So yah, if I can run a 6800GT on a 350 PSU with no problems than well, it speaks for itself.
