I just got a Deall 3007WFP display, and it doesnt work on both of my nVidia systems, but works on a ATi Radeon system.

System 1 (intel) has two 8800GTX cards in SLI (DVI)
System 2 (amd) has one 6800 Ultra AGP (DVI)

System 3 - Sony Vaio notebook, ATi Radeon 9700 with a DVI connector. The display works perfectly on it.

So it looks like an nVidia problem?
What should i do? (all drivers are updated)

On 6800Ultra the display works fine during the boot (and inside BIOS)
but goes blank when windows loads.

On 8800GTX it's blank all the time.

Restart windows choose f8 for startup options. Pick VGA mode. Set resolution in VGA mode to 2560*1600. Restart normally.

...

I gather you made sure SLI works with dual link dvi?
And is sli disabled when your trying to do it?
May be bad drivers?

have you tried using another monitor with the 8800 setup? you know, just to check for an output signal. because if you got no video output, try resetting your cmos.

edit
also plug goes to the left dvi on the top card. the one labelled with a little 1 beside it.

YEAH I DID TRY ANOTHER MONITOR. SAMSUNG WORKS FINE.

IT ACTUALLY GOES INTO LOWER CARD TO THE RIGHT.

That is probably incorrect.
The top card is more then likely the main card (if there really is a main card) and it's the top left if looking straight back to the case.

my case has a window on the right, so the board is upside down.

anyway, the other DVI monitor (samsung) works fine where im connecting the Dell to.

So, who should I contact about this, Dell or XFX (8800 makers) ?

(The monitor works fine on Mobility Radeon 9700 card)

Depends on what kind of 8800s you have. If you have EVGA of BFG, give them a call. If XFX or some other brand I would probably try Dell first, at least you know they will answer, and they should help you. I know that the 3007WFP works with the Radeon, but the 8800's also work with a different monitor, so it really is tough to say exactly where the problem lies... My instincts say that it's a driver issue, but it's also possible that Dell has heard about this issue before and may have a solution.

Two more ideas/questions before you call support...

1) Have you tried with a single 8800GTX? I know you want to run them in SLI, but if it works with a single card then you can definitely narrow it down to an SLI issue.
2) Have you installed the driver that came with your monitor? It's possible that ATI cards will do dual link DVI with a generic monitor driver, while NVIDIA cards won't. It's a long shot I know...

..also, post the rest of your system specs, there might be a useful tidbit in that info that someone else may recognize as the issue. You can be surprised sometimes as to what the real culprit can be.

I did try with just one card - no luck.
I did install the latest monitor drivers - no luck either.

System:

X6800
eVGA 680i
RAM A-Data PC2 8500
2 x 8800 GTX SLI
2 x 150Gb Raptors RAID 0 HDs
1 300 Gb Seagate HD

Guys, i just took a look at my cable, that came with the monitor, and it says Single Link DVI cable. It looks like this:

Maybe I need a Dual Link DVI cable that looks like this:

the cable the monitor comes with has a big yellow sticker that says DUAL LINK DVI. and its dual link. look elsewhere for the solution to your problem.

He just stated that it says Single Link.

I would say you need a Dual Link cable for your monitor.

if his monitor came from DELL with a single link DVI cable, I would return it and get another one. that is unacceptable. someone spends 1.5K on a screen and he doesnt get the right cable with it.

My Dell 20.1" came with a single link cable.

When I upgraded to my current monitor, I had to get a dual link.

I think this could be the OP problem.
