i have a brand new from warranty XP-M 2500+, and a zalman 7000A ALCU heatsink that has served me very well. i even modified the clip for the zalman to fit almost all socket A boards.

send me a PM if you or your friend is interested.

Save your money. The Biostar you chose is a good board, all the voltage and mutliplier functions are present. Get the 2200+ mobile, you will get at least 3200+ speeds on an easy 200MHz fsb with an unlocked processor.

Spending $20 to $30 more on a cpu to get an extra 100-200MHz on a tight budget is not productive. Spend the few bucks you save on your video card.

I know that the results will be only about 100-200 Mhz more, but I think that the extra $12 from 1.6Ghz (2200+) to 2Ghz (2600+) is worth it. Either way the 2400+ is $1 cheaper than the 2200+ at NewEgg, so that will be the minimum that I will recommend for him.

Buy whichever 35 watt mobile is the cheapest at the point you are buying it. They all basically OC about the same, so just save yourself some $$$

Agree with this guy. All the chips are the same, so it's entirely possible that the 2400+ will top out higher or the same as the 2600+ or any other chip. Get the one with the lowest wattage rating that is affordable (the 35W's I think). Lower wattage has been a better predictor of OC ability in my experience. They should all end up close to the same give or take a % point, so really don't sweat it. Just make sure you have memory and mobo for the job of getting up to 2.3-2.5 Ghz.
