That's messed up. You are stealing money from us.

While I agree that returning a dead card like that isn't right...how is it stealing money from us? He stole from CompUSA and nobody else. That affects Compusa's prices....it does nothing to retail prices set by the video card companies.

Either way....pctweaker must be one cool kid. You do realize that is the same as blatantly stealing don't you?

Retailers get their money back when costumers pulled crap like this. I remember working at K-mart. There was this PS2 someone returned. I offered to buy it if they gave me a discount, cause lets face it, Sony charges a lot for some crappy engineering. The manager said, why do that when I can just return it to the company and get all the money I deserve. Then the companies get pissed and charge more for the product to deal with the losses. Therefore, stealing money from us.

It happens with LCDs. All of the LCDs that are manufactured with defects get thrown away, and we have to pay for that. The V171b is probably like 30 bucks to manufacture, I know it's cheap, Would probably retail for less than 200, but we have to pay them 300+ on top of the 200 dollars to deal with all the defective ones. That is some BS. That is one other reason why I won't by and LCD.

Of course it happens with CPU's also and their yeild rates, but that has to happen. CRT's have less defectives and everyone can agree that they both LCDs and CRTs perform at least similar.

Didn't you mean to say:
"Either way...pctweaker must be one tool kid"?

;)

Yep, any way you cut it, bragging about how you steal video cards is pretty sad. He obviously didn't think he was doing anything wrong, what does that say about his parents? They must not have cared enough about him to explain how stealing is wrong, or been thieves themselves?

its not the same as stealing. its taking advantage of the system.

and if it were a big problem for the stores, they would have serial numbers like they do for ps2's. you cant return one of those that you didnt really buy unless you switch the case over too.

No, its definately stealing. Taking advantage of the system is handing 3 of your items to your wife so you can get your 15 items through the express lane with a 12 item limit.

Lol you guys are great. Im glad I make you ATI fanboys suffer, it seems I would only have to do this with an ATI card and because of your pain Im gonna go out and buy an ATI card, scratch up the core and return it for another one and do it again and just get my money back. HAHAHAHAHA!
