use the rest of the cash to buy games

fix the title. a $300 gaming PC? ain't gonna happen. 😛

sounds fine so far. how about PSU? how about RAM? also, don't forget a DVD Drive.

2 things to change:

1 - Fix your title, $300 for all that sounds a bit low, unless you plan to use some not-so-legal means of obtaining these parts 😉
2 - Fix the spacing between the : and PNY to get rid of the 😛

😉

wheres the rest of your pc parts? HDD, ram PSU, optical?

btw PNY = teh suck

might i suggest, 1 x 150gb raptor, 1 x storage drive, 2 x 2gb DDR2, SATA DVD RW, PCPC silencer 750 or turbocool 850

If you're going to wait a month or two, go ahead and wait till April when Intel drops prices and also comes out with new processors. Hopefully ATI's new cards will also come out in April.

The video card is far more important than the processor. While quad core may sound nice, it's not offering any better game performance.

I would stick to one video card, I don't think having two is worth it. Save the money for your next computer upgrade.

monitor: dell 22" Widescreen $330 or 2407 FP $680 or 2x 20" dell widescreen $560
Dual monitors are for great for multitasking, but are almost useless for games. Unfortunately lots of games don't even support widescreen, but it's nice for movies.

Wait until after april 22nd, and get the E6600, 8800GTX (or ati equivalent if its better), and 24" LCD. Though, you may need a 2nd GTX for that monitor, hehe.

You don't have a new PSU listed. It's important not to skimp there and use an old one that might not be able to handle all of that. I'd allow a good $100-150 for a new PSU (at least, that's in my plans)
