Phew... bboy Crumbs (Style Elements) was just hired by Justin Timberlake to teach him how to bboy/breakdance. At least Justin will be taught by someone authentic, arguably the best bboy in the world right now, as opposed to some sucky "hip hop" dance instructor. Timberlake will be paying Donny/Crumbs $300 per hour for private breaking lessons... 2 hours a day, the entire month of April. That comes out to 300 x 2 x 30 = $18,000 for one month's worth of work (if you consider two hours' worth of dancing per day work :p ).

I wish I could make $18,000 in one month. It's too bad I didn't pick up breaking back in the 80's, the bboys are getting a ton of work right now (Jolly Rancher commercial, GAP commercial, Toyota commercial w/Smashmouth music, AT&T commercial, etc)...

Too bad I'm a white guy and can't do "street" dances.

I posted one of him awhile back, vs. Benji from France... there might be a thread in the archives about it. I think you can also check out the trailer of his video "Brainstorm" at StyleElements.com

Let the "bboys" milk it while they still can. Maybe they'll be able to save enough to retire at an early age... :p

ah, I got that versus Benji. But he was only "good" at the end, right? He got owned during the first couple minutes.

too bad the good dancers get the ladies, while the others sit at the bar and stare at them.

DoKnock/Jon Cruz won $100,000 on Star Search a few weeks back... hopefully they'll be smart and save, vs. blowing all of it within weeks. That's definitely one problem the bboys have... they tend to live day by day, vs. thinking ahead. Donny just got a check for $14,000 for the Toyota commercial he did... every time it plays, he gets $400. If you're in SoCal, it's the one with Smashmouth's song in the background and bboy silhouettes in the beginning... he appears for 3-4 seconds, max.

That's about what an attorney gets.

Yeah, but not for working 2 hours a day DANCING! :p

i can't wait to see justin do some breaking. i <3 justin. :D

My friend works at an office(where the attorneys work), and he said the highest paid guy in his office is at about 535$/hour. Of course, that's an exception, but still.

This is true. A guy who can dance (even if he's not that good looking) is VERY, VERY, VERY attactive. When Donny went to Japan, he set a Tribal Gear record by hooking it up with 11 girls in a week... :Q

There are commercial editors who can get billed out at $3000 a day. :)

So...wouldn't that mean he has already seen it?

Guess not since he has to pay $300/hour for lessons.

Wow thats a boatload of money. I refuse to use the term "bboy" when the original term break-dancer aptly defines it. IMHO its just dumb to make up another name that sounds "cooler" and break-dancer is not deragotory name. I just dont get it :).

Its funny though now that break-dancing is making a comeback. Cartoons from the 80s like Transformers, TMNT, He-Man are all making a come-back. Strange it how it goes in cycles.
