never heard anyone call a 3 series 300 but thats just me. anyways, I believe that it's still a compact car...pretty sure it's not a full size

edit: well bigger than compact, but hopefully you get what I'm saying?

I believe he's talking about the Chrysler rather than the BMW.

LOL - We're not talking rentals here - they prolly consider a outback full size just to charge more.:p I mean really full size. Where three can sit in back seat and still have leg/shoulder room.

Your Town Car isn't full size, it's bigger than full. It would be if there were more cars that long, but there aren't anymore.

I've got no use for a damn console either. Way too hemmed in. We're moving my wife from her "mid-sized" Grand Marquis, to a Navigator because of the lack of rear legroom. These days "full size" is a friggin' joke! :|

"The RWD 300 offers two V6 engines in base trims and a powerful V8 in the 300C and SRT8. AWD is optional. Interior materials are OK, but the cabin doesn't stand out in this class. The claustrophobic cabin and limited outward visibility are detractions. Reliability of the V8 is poor; the V6 is average." doesn't look promising?

The new 300 is all about exterior design rather than functionality. It's luxury on-a-budget. :p

You'll want a van then. The Avalon has a decent amount of interior room, and reclining rear seats to boot.

Do you weigh over 300 pounds, or do you just like to stretch out and lay down while you're driving?

Town cars are one of the very few real full-sized cars left & AFAIK the only domestic one... ali the really large American vehicles these days are SUV's.

They are right about us Americans.. we are a freaking bunch of lardasses. Anywhere else in the world, they would be calling that 300 a tank.

Interesting observation. The Cad dealer made similar comment. Said people are moving to SUV's and luxury trucks for thier real full size needs these days. I don't like the ride or COG though.

I miss wide bench seats.:(

Bah. That Consumer Reports. How do they know about the reliability of the car? It hasn't been out that long. V6 doesn't look promising? It rates a 9.5 among its users.
And why was it nominated best sedan if it wasn't that good. CR has always been partial to imports anyway.

That's what my wife says I do. I look sideways and see out the rear window.:p

The 300 is mostly a Mercedes, and Mercedes aren't that reliable. So much for the "partial to imports" theory. :disgust:

Really! So the Mercedes must be a Chrysler as well!
Import fanbois on the loose.

Don't know of any Mercedes that are mostly Chryslers just yet, but I am sure they're coming.

I have seen Mercedes with cheaper interiors of late, though, following Chrysler's lead. The R300s I've seen only have leather inserts in the front seats, while the rest of the interior is all vinyl.

I can get the driver's seat pretty comfortable in most any car as far as leg reach and steering wheel position, but I do feel claustrophobic with the console constantly brushing my right leg. I REALLY don't see the point for it. They say FWD leaves more room in the car because of the lack of a driveshaft hump, but then they throw a retarded console in its place!

Not true. Go to Saudi Arabia or Kuwait. There are more SL500's than you can shake a stick at. Not our fault rest of world is broke and/or statist governments impose strict restrictions on what you're allowed to drive.
