I knew it would only be a matter of time until the insane within left blamed the NRA.

The NRA has done its best to fuel paranoia to gun nuts from the second Sandy Hook happened, and that increased gun sales enormously. Fueling paranoia amongst the craziest is a good way to make money if you sell something that caters to them. You have NRA brainwashed nutsos sit here and call background checks unconstitutional when the NRA themselves was all for them up until someone actually tried to do it.

As far as my "worst of society" comment. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're worse than rapists and murderers and what have you. Those people have chosen to violate the rules of society and can no longer be considered part of it. However the NRA makes money off of violence in society. Anyone that profits from violence deserves to be called the worst of society.

The liberals have fueld that fear by enacting insane legislation taking away the ability to purchase or own guns. Holy fuck when are you going to understand that?

So if taggants are a good idea, why don't any other countries use them besides Switzerland? Do the paranoid idiots bashing the NRA think that the NRA controls all the world's governments?

Why don't our own military and police use them?

If we used them all those guns + ammunition Obama goes on about not good for fighting govts or personal protection that he sells overseas would end up being traced back to us.

If By asking to have a public discourse is insane by your definition then you need to reexamine your command of the English language.

If by enact you mean propose then that's a another word you need to research. I recommend remedial English.

Those laws in NY, Conn, Colorado that were passed and proposed laws in Cal have been fueling the frenzy. It is difficult to blame the NRA for fueling paranoia when the left is actually implementing their dire predictions.

I suggest to stop dragging your knuckles and get out of the cave you have been living within.

I'd rather drag my knuckles in a cave than live in a society obsessed with killing machines that has the highest gun related violence of all first world countries..

Taggants would have done nothing to help catch any bomber that knew about them.

That's pure bullshit. Gun sales increased once Obama became president (actually its been growing since 2000) and no gun legislation was being pushed or even mentioned other than Obama signing a law allowing people to bring firearms into national parks.

Bush started that process to be fair.

and hes a chicago democrat, you are just now seeing his true colors

The frenzy you describe isnt rooted in fact or reality. All we hear is infantile slippery slope arguments. What you have to realize is most of us lawful gun owners like myself are capable of a rational discussion on registration to try to address problems.

I may have taken the thread a bit off topic so I apologize.

Again can you refute my assertion most of the frenzy is not proportional to reality?

Democrats:We need to ban machine guns
NRA: It's a slippery slope
Loony lefty: You're paranoid

Democrats: We need to ban black rifles
NRA: It's a slippery slope
Loony lefty: You're paranoid

Democrats: We need to limit magazines to 10 rounds
NRA: It's a slippery slope
Loony lefty: You're paranoid

Democrats: We need universal background checks
NRA: It's a slippery slope
Loony lefty: You're paranoid

Democrats: We need to track gunpowder
NRA: It's a slippery slope
Loony lefty: You're paranoid

Democrats: We need to a gun registry
NRA: It's a slippery slope
Loony lefty: You're paranoid

Democrats: We need to ban guns completely
NRA: It's a slippery slope
Loony lefty: You're paranoid

It's funny, no matter how far we slip down the slope, loony lefties keep claiming that "NOBODY'S GUNNA TAKE YER GUNS!!!!"

I've noticed that's become the typical Democrat response to any debate these days. They all seem to be reading from a script anytime someone disagrees with Democrat policy. They dismiss the argument and avoid it entirely by claiming the person who disagrees is insane, paranoid, or a drama queen. It's a slimy attempt to shut down the debate before it ever happens.

'our side' conceded already in the 30's

we did again in the 90's

and the 90's ban showed no statistically significant changes

in crime, just like CCW

but 'the AWB' 'worked' and 'CCW didnt'

thats some great logic for ya

Why would you be scared of nuclear weapons being in private hands?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the correct scorecard for people murdered by nuclear weapons is:

Government: ~250,000
Private citizen: 0

I hope that you aren't this dumb IRL....

Proceed with your proposals then; I'm sure they have nothing to do with the huge spike in firearms sales the last few years. The shareholders of Sturm Ruger and other manufacturers certainly appreciate you making them hugely wealthy with the increased business.

It is like you live within an alternate reality where gun bans and new laws werent enacted since Sandy Hook. How can anybody claim the NRA is fueling the paranoia when democrats are doing what the NRA and gun rights supported said they would do? Feeding frenzy not proportional to reality is if the NRA said bans and restrictions were coming and they never happened. This feeding frenzy is directly proportional to democrats restricting and banning guns. The democrats are the source of the feeding frenzy, not the NRA.

Like I said, they attempt to shut down the debate before it gets started. Debating laws with a Democrat is like trying to tell them that the parrot they sold you is nailed to its perch.

D : Nobody's trying to take your guns.
R : Democrats tried to pass a law that bans "assault" rifles
D : No they didn't.
R : It's right here.
D : No it's not.
R : There was a vote to try to pass the ban.
D : They were voting on lunch.
R : *head explodes*

As a Democrat, I have no problem debating these gun laws. Though, as a math & science person, I understand the "Republican" side perfectly well. These new laws do absolutely nothing to curb violence.

Everything is relative. Even our "highest gun related violence" is relatively low. Furthermore, the gun related violence attributed to hot-button "killing machines" like "assault rifles" and "high-capacity magazines" is almost non-existent.

The vast majority of gun related violence involves handguns, and involves fewer that 5 rounds of ammunition being expended, things which are and will stay legal in our most liberal states (CA and NY).

I question whether gunpowder was actually used in these bombs. I cannot find any govt official making a definitive statement about the explosives used.

I saw a retired FBI official who worked in the FBI lab that is responsible for these type bombs etc and he said it did not appear to gunpowder etc. He based his opinion on the smoke etc.

IIRC, he said it appeared to be ammonia nitrate.

Bullshit. "1st world countries?" I know that's just a dishonest way to cherry pick the countries that have less crime than the USA, while ignoring that there are more than 100 counties with a higher homicide rates than the USA.

If it's so bad here why don't you leave? Mexico has really tough gun control laws, why don't you move down there? Maybe you could find a sub-Saharan African country, where they use machetes and spears more often than guns?
