One of the best and smartest shows on TV. Even a "bad" episode is better than 95% of everything else.
Just so I get this right though, its now going to be cool to hate on 30 Rock?
PBS is smart TV. 30 Rock overhyped. Liking 30 Rock is the hipster thing right now. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone who likes 30 Rock also owns a Macbook.
I don't own a MacBook (or a single Apple product) and I have watched and loved it since episode 1 season 1. Over hyped? It has 0 viewers for 3 words and won countless awards. Just now are people starting to catch on to how good it is due to the hype it has received... and yet still its viewers barely push it into the top 50 (see post above).
Hopefully it will not be another Arrested Development.
Why does everyone think its cool to hate on something that is or has become popular?

It already is. Just like Arrested Development people mistakenly think it's a decent show.

It always been cool to hate on 30 Rock. I did so when I tried watching the first couple of shows during the premier. Then, last season, I started catching the openings after recordings of My Name is Earl or The Office or something. I would laugh harder during the three minutes of the show that was over-recorded by my DVR than I did the whole show I just watched. So I downloaded all of Season 1 and 2 up to that point and wondered how I could ever dislike the show.
I still think it's the funniest show on TV this season, but I wish they would start spreading the love around. This season has featured WAY TOO LITTLE from the supporting cast.

I'm pretty surprised how the show can be so star-studded and suck so much. It's not funny. I smiled a few times during the first episode, but quit watching several weeks later.
I just don't understand why people defend it so hard. It's almost as if, because of such big names in the show, that the whole of Hollywood feels obliged to worship the show and the rest of the nation follows along like mindless lemmings.
Then again, there's not many shows on network TV that are worth watching anyway.

I didn't think this past week's was very good. I did think last season was just as good, tho.
Edit: Salma Hayek's tatas looked fabuloso tho this past week so overall it's a push.

It's not a highly-rated show, so I don't really get your point. Essentially all critics, and the show's fans, think it's brilliant. You don't. Why should anyone care what you think any more than you care what we do?

The first episode? Really? The first episode was generally poorly received. Even many people who like the show will say the first episode sucked. Hmmm....

You obviously care enough to quote me and reply, old man. 🙂 If you don't like my opinion, tough shit.
You should try not being an asshole sometime. It's amazing. :sun:

Did you purposefully ignore the part about watching it for several weeks before making a decision?

No... I find it curious that you enjoyed the first episode more than subsequent weeks. Unless I misunderstood what you wrote?

Tasteful? I guess I don't understand what you mean.

I've read about him saying a lot of distasteful stuff over the years. For one, he was going to leave if Bush got elected to a second term, and then there was that voicemail message where he berated his daughter calling her a pig and stuff. He comes off like a big whiny baby. I can't get by his real life personality to find him a tasteful actor.
Love Tina Fey though. Beyond 30 Rock, her Palin imitations are legendary.
