30 Rock - Once funny, now just annoyingly over rated?

This show (and Tina Fey) seems to have taken a big fall in quality since 2 seasons ago, yet it's still a big hit with the critics - am I the only one who feels that the show sucks now?

I didn't think this past week's was very good. I did think last season was just as good, tho.

Edit: Salma Hayek's tatas looked fabuloso tho this past week so overall it's a push.

Less funny than it's been. Seems to be this season spends a lot more time on Lemmon than the other characters. Still a lot funnier than just about anything else on TV.

I've watched every episode (back to back) up to the Senor Macho Solo one in season 3 and I love the show. I think it's hilarious and I am in love with Tina Fey and her character Liz Lemon.

One of the best and smartest shows on TV. Even a "bad" episode is better than 95% of everything else.

Just so I get this right though, its now going to be cool to hate on 30 Rock?

If your 'smartest' list includes upwards of 50 shows then yes, it might pass as ONE OF the smartest on TV. The bottom of that list of course, but at least it's there.

PBS is smart TV. 30 Rock overhyped. Liking 30 Rock is the hipster thing right now. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone who likes 30 Rock also owns a Macbook.

I don't own a MacBook (or a single Apple product) and I have watched and loved it since episode 1 season 1. Over hyped? It has 0 viewers for 3 words and won countless awards. Just now are people starting to catch on to how good it is due to the hype it has received... and yet still its viewers barely push it into the top 50 (see post above).

Hopefully it will not be another Arrested Development.

Why does everyone think its cool to hate on something that is or has become popular?

i hate sitcoms. that canned laughter ever 10 seconds is like fingers down a chalk board.

"Actor opens door, with a stupid look on his face:

*QUEUE LAUGHTER!!!

I put 30 Rock in the slim category of shows where I simply have a hard time respecting anyone who doesn't like it (assuming they've watched it at all).

Allow me to liven up this thread with one of the greatest scenes in the show's history. This is the episode that they submitted in support of Alec Baldwin's successful bid for an Emmy (complete with an obscure To Kill a Mockingbird reference of all things).

Oh and for the record Nik learn what "smart" means:

5 a: witty , clever <a smart sitcom> b: pert , saucy <don't get smart with me>

It seems like with the outgoing Bush Administration the jokes just aren't as funny as they once were. I especially loved all the jokes and jabs at the Bush administration.

I feel the same way about The Office this season as well. It is seeming more and more like a intense drama rather than a extremely funny and creative sitcom.

there is no laugh track in 30 Rock or 90% of the actually good comedies for the past 5 years.

30 Rock doesn't use a laugh track, nor does The Office, NBC's other great sitcom.
