30-pack of CDRs vs. 3x 10pk DVD-R's

On the left, you see a 30 disc spindle of Memorex CDR's. On the right, you see 3 10 disc spindles of Memorex DVD-R's. What the heck is going on with the height difference? You'd expect the 3 10pk's to be considerably taller because of the size markup by the 3 lips around the top and the 3 spindle bases. In both spindle sizes, the discs are only protected by 1 of those transparent discs on top, and one on the bottom. This should also produce a size markup on the 10pks. Maybe these aren't really 30 packs?

The "30" pack of CD-R's are actually in a case for 50 CDR's. They use a spacer to take up the rest of the room.

The smaller cases are made for 10-15 DVD's, which would make their total amount to be 30-45 DVD's total, hence not being the same size as a 50 CDR case.

Do i get a cookie?

yeah...you do.....did you used to work for microsoft or something? i remember the name likelinus...i think. i think i bought a ms explorer keychain mouse and other stuff from you.

Almost a cookie. Even without the spacers, I couldn't fit 50 CDs in that 30-pk, more along the lines of 35 and the 10pks are actually 12pks with the spacers removed. Thanks man, I almost went insane over this one.
