This one on the other hand looks pretty good too and it's new.

Acording to it's Specs:
- 26"
- 1280x768
- 11ms
- DVI

$595 - $30 wail-in rebate = $565

This might be tempting me away from the Viewsonic 27"

Only issue that I see is that it's not true 16:9 it's 15:9 (aka 16:10). I'm worried about image stretching on true 16:9 sources. I just can't watch a movie when the aspect is off.

You can tag on the service extension plan which costs 79.99 for two years -- might give the peace of mind that you're looking for.
