How about a 30.7gig Western Digital for $84?

Go here to get it for $109:
http://123cdc.com/cdc_pdetails.asp?id=009780-C

Here it is at Staples:
http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/sku.asp?PageType=1&Sku=IM1009780

Then call up Staples at 1-800-3staple and have them pricewatch, then use the $25 off $75 coupon floating around.

Great Deal!

btw: If they give you a problem with the vendor above, use:
http://www.gogocity.com//product_details.asp?dept%5Fid=211&pf%5Fid=CO02HDD0237 for $110.95

An even better deal is to pricematch at the $110.95 place and add the acid dj software for 39.97 with a 39.97 rebate to push your total over $150 and use the $40 off $150 coupon. With this coupon - final cost for drive $70.95! (and you get acid dj for free on top of it) Yeah that involves a rebate but Staples offers tracking of your rebate right on-line so it takes the mystery out of when you will receive the rebate which is nice.

YADTDOCSR:

Yet Another "Deal" That Depends On a Clueless Sales Rep

123CDC drives are OEM. Staples are retail. Staples shouldn't
price match, and if your sales rep has a clue, they won't.

Perhaps we could institute a new policy in Anandtech to use
the phrase "clueless pricematch" for deals that require pricematching
retail to OEM.

I don't know how your suppose to get this deal to work. Are you suppose to call up staples and tell them to pricematch it for you and then apply the coupon?

they told me the drive has a $14 shipping charge and quoted me a cost of $123.50 before local tax. This price does not reflect the 25% off which would bring it down to $96 before tax. It's still a pretty good deal, just wanted to give a more accurate cost.

You're best best is to pricematch the drive at Staples (OEM) to Sam's Club (Retail). You won't be able to get the rebate but I talked the CSR at Staples (Debbie at Ex 5462) to Pricematch Staples itm Number IM1009780 to $99. Then added the coupon ($25 off $75) for a total of $81.49 (darn sales tax) with no shipping.

That should be enough info for you to get this deal for a 30.7 gig. Everyone should take notes like this especially when talking to Staples' CSRs. Makes getting the same deal easier but be worned that Staples is in the process of eliminating pricematching to Sam's Club or any other membership required store.

I haven't read the exact pricematch guide for staples, but sometimes places won't pricematch a member's only store (IE: Sams) You might want to double check to make sure.

the above link to the wd $30.00 rebate does not apply to this drive as it is oem. They will pricematch with another vendor online from pricewatch. I picked up another 30.7gb drive model 307aa from computer geeks . com and it was cheap and the shipping wasn't bad. No tax as opposed to staples.

the drive is on special for today only.

scReEAMZ, just call and place the order. I just did it today even though the acid dj software is not on the web page today. (it was there yesterday). The rebate form is still on-line in the "rebate center". Using the Acid DJ software to bump up to $150 for the $40 off worked great for me today. Went through with no problem.
