3 drives on sata2 will be faster than 2 drives on sata3 with real data. Especially if you do major multitasking(you will do more now simply because.. you can) and/or have another raided storage volume to make use of those increased speeds. R/W bottlenecks always hit us hardest from the storage drives limitations since all the speed comes from the files that are natively stored on the SSD array.  Getting them there is the slowest part.
 
If you think that tripling sequential read speeds by using a Revo3 will blow your mind?.. you are forgetting that most of the perceptible gains come from the ultra low latency itself. Really heavy use and fast storage volumes are the key to really seeing those speed gains when you get into raided SSD.
