Hi everyone and Merry Christmas. I appreciate EVERYONES opinion on this matter. Even though some may disagree I think I have done a good thing, even though you rag on me posting this in hotdeals think about this. How many of you would have seen this in OffTopic Forum. Even if you did just read this to rag on it, you became aware of the facts at that point and it also made you think twice when you saw a white suburban today. Like I said if even one person read this when they wouldnt even have heard about it I think i did something good....

This is depressing but it doesnt have to be so much if someone catches these guys....

If it was allowed to post every tear renching event in HotDeals that clearly belonged in OT then Anandtech HotDeal would be useless. Perhaps this is overly critical but if you say this kind of misposting should be allowed to slide solely because "more eyes will see it in HD" then the whole system goes to hell. IMHO Offtopic is the place to look for news, not HD. For example is a report about some kid who died a terrible death in my hometown even close to a hot deal? the answer is obviously no. I am even against the mod's recent abuse of this by posting permenent "top of the list" posts in HD.

By posting in the wrong forum you are just asking for 50% of the following posts to be critical banter of your placement of the thread.

True, but those who can't see that the intention was good and refrain from saying something nasty are NOT the kind of people I care to deal with. I certainly wouldn't do business with anyone like that! If any of you have any intention of being successful in the real world, you might consider better manners and what constitutes 'class' (it's not money).

No one had to post in response to the thread. In fact, the BEST way to handle a thread you don't like or don't approve of is to ignore it. Or let the Mods handle it. Flinging crap around just makes you look ugly.

I thought I had found a place where people cared about people,and helped each other.I know most of you are warm,caring folk,thats what made me sign up,but those ferengi......it is sad.I wept for the officer,and his family.I dont know them,never met them,but they are (or sadly,were) human beings that needed help.It just goes to show,for some people money is god.

everyone keeps raggin on the HD forum but give some examples of how they're like that
the off topic forum is a &quot;almost everything goes&quot; forum
the HD forum is strictly for hot deals as the description says on the main page
granted some people are a$$holes but i see more OT people acting like one then the HD people.
i feel very sorry for the cops family. I know most of the police force in the tarrant county and knew this guy (not personally though)
