I asked this before, but got no reply. I guess alot of the DC-people are still running RC5 or something. If winning DSLR in SETI is so important, why donät those people switch from RC5 (or some other project) to SETI?

FWIW, I'm crunching SETI for Team AnandTech 🙂

just wondering if theres any point to running this on slow pcs😛 a new 2.2ghz p4 could probably crunch 20x faster then a p166😛 dunno. maybe anand should encourage his team to upgrade hehe

Come on everybody!
We've got into a better position to handle the big WU's dumps that DSLR does but we still need more help from all you Anandtech readers!

Please go here and join TeAm Anandtech and help us win the race vs. DSLR!

Welcome to all the new members 😀

Its nice to see the outpouring of support from the community. Come by the DC forum and introduce yourselves you won't find a friendlier group of people on the net 😀

We are closing in on Microsoft, Intel and the Planetary Society as well as fighting our way through this race!

Please Join the TeAm and help us become the #1 Team in the world! 😀

Good morning everyone and welcome to all the new members! 🙂

We need your help.....really! :Q

Thanks for helping...🙂

How the hell do those two get 800GHz worth of CPU-power? Are they running SETI on corporate workstations?

I might install SETI on my 120MHz Samba/Apache server 🙂. Not much, but it'll help.

I can't believe how slow these P4s are.

I've got SETI running on 4 P4 1.6Ghz 256MB PC 133 i845MB Dell PC at work and they do a WU in a little over 6 hrs. My home PC, an Athlon XP 1700 (1.47Ghz) w/256MB PC2100 DDR in a Epox 8KHA+ MB, does a WU in about 3 3/4hrs.

Come aboard the TeAm Express!

Next Victim err I mean stop Microsoft!

Soon to be followed by Intel and the Planetary Society!

Hop aboard and lets get moving! 😀

Done! I now have SETI running on my 120MHz server 🙂. I also installed SETI on my Linux, so I'm crunching WU's now, no matter if I use W2K or Linux 🙂
