3 pin Y adapter for fan connectors - safe?

I have a fan connector that connects up to 4 fans, but I have 5 fans that I needed connected. Two of them are the vga fan on my geforce 4 ti and the other is the chipset fan. My chipset fan can't startup using the 5 volt mod, but it starts up fine on my fan controller with 5 volts set for that channel. Would it be possible for me to use a 3 pin Y adapter to hook up both these two fans to the same channel on the fan controller? If I were to set the voltage to 7V, would both fans be getting 7V? Thanks.

Yes, both fans would get 7v. You shouldn't have a problem with this.
