3-Pin to 4-Pin Adapter .99 shipped @ SVC.

This deal pops up now and then, and is always a good deal. SVC is a great company to order from, and they ship FAST. No BS about cheap prices, then overly inflated shipping costs. WYSIWYG.

now... tell me.
these adapters...
is the reason for getting one of these mainly 'cause you don't want to strip lines from powersupply and solder the fan connectors?

or is there a great advantage of using one of these over soldering?
the only advantage that i see is that you can plug and unplug incase you want to change the fan... or psu.

Why would you solder if you can spend 99 cents and get an adapter? These things are great for attaching those 7000 RPM Deltas to the PS instead of the on-board connector. This prevents burning out the connector.

I just picked one up for my delta, gonna use it to get the voltage down, its way too loud as is. Any one know if you can still use the onboard rpm sensor if your using the 4 pin to connect the fan(maybe you can jumper it or something😛)

Yes, you can use the rpm sensor with the 4 pin adapter if you purchase their 3 to 4 pin adapter with separate rpm sensor connector for 99 cents.

I dorm about 1.5 miles from them. Great people! I plan to buy like 10 myself....of course..no shipping needed...hehehehe

😀

Yeah, I bought 10 about a month ago from case-mod.com. Free shipping for 5 or more. These adapters are perfect for hooking the 2-pin Panaflo fans to your 12V supply.

Does anyone know where I can buy 3 to 4 pin Y splitters with low shipping? Most places that sell these havem for about a dollar, but the shipping ends up being 6 dollars!
SVC nor casemod have them. can anyone help me?

I recieved my adapters today and it was supposed to be shipped first class. Turns out they shipped it priority free.
Good deal🙂

considering the fact that these are quite cheap... it just might be worth the money.
but i still don't get it.

why use these connectors?

perhaps... i'm just more of a solder kinda guy...
but i feel much securer knowing that my fans have been soldered not attached via these adaptors.

but that's just me.

Priority=first class

Costs more if the package is under about 12 ounces or so.

One reason to use these is if you are using a motherboard that
doesn't have fan connectors. This is very common among the proprietary
motherboards used by companies like HP, Compaq, etc (they use
large heatsinks and a duct system that drags air across the
processors). Sometimes you want to add a fan for better cooling.

These are also useful for certain proprietary motherboards that
use odd 4 connectors on the motherboard (some Gateway motherboards
are like this).
