Question 3 personal graphics cards compared

So, I need to figure out why my MSI gtx 1660 Ti 6GB 2 fan (circa 2019) is faster than my Pro Art ASUS rtx 4060 Ti 16GB 3 fan (circa 2023) which is faster than my relatively new ASUS rtx 5080 Prime 16 GB 3 fan (circa 2025)? Yes, the 1660 is faster than the 5080! And I have swapped them in and out to make sure I'm not crazy! I mainly play racing games! drivers pass me up and pull away from me no problem with the 5080! the 4060 is faster, and I best my own times, keep up with and sometimes pass and even win with the 1660. If it weren't for the better results I would say it's in muy head...but it's not! Why is this?

My Rig:
MB/MSI B760 Gaming DDR5 Wifi,
CPU/ Intel i9 14900K 3 fan liquid cooled,
RAM/G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal Neo DDR5 2X16 CL28,
Storage/Samsung SSD 990 EVO PLUS 2TB,
PSU/GameMax RAMPAGE GX 1250

I'm selling the big one's to get a better 5080, I think, unless I learn something different here! Thanks!

Have you checked you're scores against similar online stuff. A 14900k is a red flag given how many have degraded. If it has the 4 and 5 series rely much more on CPU grunt due to driver overhead after removing some hardware timer stuff. You might need a new CPU, not a new GPU...
