3 more reasons why Canada sucks

1) i'm on the 401 heading towards TO. 2 to 3 lane highways and the frickin speed limit is 100km all the way down. wtf. even the QEW is listed as 100km?! that is equal to about 60mph. i usually ignore this and stay with "the flow". this time i noticed signs all over: $10,000 fine for going 50km over the speed limit o_O. holy....

2) at Taco Bell. 6 burritos, 2 quesadillas, 2 cokes. usually about $14 here in the States. but in Canada, i paid $29!!??. wth. the Canadian dollar should never be worth more than US currency. this is a travesty and i blame those dirty republicans

3) with the devaluation of the US dollar, canadians think they are better than us now. one had the audacity to honk his horn at me as i weaved through traffic and cut him off. in the 90s they would have just smiled and waved and accepted the blame.

sigh. i should stop going to canada. its getting expensive and dangerous. any one else have any problems with our neighbor up north?

Hah.
The 401 sucks, that is for sure. I avoid it as much as I can.
But, 70-75MPH is pretty much the norm along there.

The prices of things, yep, it's terrible. I shop in Michigan all the time because most stuff here is just too expensive.

1) The unwritten rule is 100-110 in the right lane, 110-120 in the middle lane and 120-140 in the left lane.

2) Yeah, everything is grossly overpriced here, and there's a fat 13% sales tax one everything here in Ontario. Gotta keep those civil servants and teachers making puppies.

3) Sorry about that but you got in my way. You were in Toronto my friend. There's a misconception that all Canadians are nice but T.Dot holds it's own with Philly and New York on the rudeness scale. And you shouldn't have been driving like an asshole in another country to begin with.

Where the hell do you get 6 burritos 2 quesadillas and 2 cokes for 14 dollars?

I was just in mexico and that would cost more than that at a tiny taco stand.

getting mexican food in Canada is no bueno. I ordered a burrito in a super popular mexican restaraunt in Edmonton and it had kidney beans and marinara sauce in it, wtf? The closest thing to Mexican food in the dinner was the Carona.

As someone who grew up in a small town but has since lived (and continues to work) in TO, I find it unlikely that TO is as rude as Philly or NY.

The vast majority of people in TO are not rude at all. If they are 'as rude' as Philly or NY, then all this stuff about city folk being so rude is massively blown out of proportion.

You should have been at the CNE on the weekend. Toronto people are more passively aggressive. They don't shout verbal remarks but they're pushy. People from the suburbs of Toronto are the worst of them all.

If you're evaluating overall behaviour based on experiences at the CNE, you're doing it wrong. You have that many people packed in there and I don't care who they are they're not going to be the epitome of class. With that said, this is the first year I haven't gone to the CNE on labour day weekend in over 20 years and it's really not that bad. While it's not the best of comparisons, I found Disney World a lot worse.

But yes, the CNE is worse in terms of politeness than your average interaction in TO.

Tb burritos around here are at least 2.50 each for the cheapest, 4+ for the deluxe. With the other items & tax, looking at a good $24 if going with the cheap burritos.

Lots of Chinese and Italian food around.

Yeah last time I went to canada it was stupid, a $20 meal in the US is about $29 or something, same caliber of restaurant. And it's not like people there have more money.

Well at least tipping isn't mandatory. There was a scandal in New England. The restaurants there were charging extra tipping on the bill of 18% for people they suspected came from Quebec.

But we have higher everything PLUS universal health care. We are taxed more heavily but have a higher standard of living, much less crime etc. Every business has to pay taxes, so prices are higher.

They actually ban cross border shopping in my opinion.

There are tonnes of reasons Canada sucks, but expensive burritos is not one of them.
