I have 3 of these 120mm fans, one in front, back and on the TT Big Typhoon cooler. Right now I have 3 of the fan controllers in the back, but is it possible to put all 3 of the fans on one controller?
I'm assuming those are passive controllers (no power transistors or ICs) so probably not. You'd need an active controller like the Sunbeam Rheobus as the total current draw for three (at 0.5A each) could be up to 1.5 A. An 18W rheostat would be too big to fit on a single slot cover plate... Or you could use Zalman Fan Mates on two of them, so you'd only be taking up one PCI slot.
Yeah the second option was to get a fan controller, but the problem is I have a Ultra Aluminus case which has a front case door, so that Sunbeam Rheobus wont fit when I close the door, are there any other fan contollers I can use?
The Coolermaster Aerogate 3 works pretty good and it has a low-profile front panel with no knobs. It's been discontinued for some time but you can still find them around for a reasonable price (under $25.)
DarkMan, I know this thread is a few months old, but I have the Aluminus and the Sunbeam Rheobus. My door closes just fine. Maybe you don't have the fan controller in the bay correctly?
