3 Doors Down was emo when I was in high school 10 years ago. They jumped the shark ages past.
 
Ya I listened to their debut album for a WHOLE year when it came out. Nothing else in my CD player. Nothing else at all, for a whole year.

Downloaded their discography and some of the newer songs are starting to appeal to me now. Very good country kinda rock, great vocals, nice riffs.

Nik - All good bands have to be emo, if your lyrics are all happy happy joy joy then it becomes very boring. Most good songs are either party songs (e.g. hookers, blow, lambas) or the emo stuff.

I will give this "3EB" a go, what do they stand for?

Ugh, Kryptonite was way over-played.

I like all their other songs except this one. I also played their 2 CDs that I own (how many are there?) over and over. And I'll freely admit I'm stuck in the 90s.

For similar, I've been listening a lot to Rise Against and Stone Sour. Don't know if they're that similar, but you might like them if you don't already.

What's your point about music? Like calling him a noob makes him more informed about what constitutes "real" music... not that your definition would be correct, anyway.

You could say some music is more enjoyable to you or more complex, but music is music. If it's not completely cacophonies randomly generated, it's probably still music.

I don't get why you can't criticize constructively if you are going to criticize. I rarely call people trolls, but if you are going to only put someone down, you might as well not post.

I would've really liked to have seen this band live. I don't care what anyone else says; their stuff is very solid, and surprisingly diverse.

Most of their songs sounded pretty similar to me.

Then again, I confess I haven't listened to them in a few years.
 
The GooGoo Dolls was ok too. I hated one of their vocalists though.

There really are too many bands from the mid to late 90s that were great, but I think that's nostalgia and memory attachments for a lot of people turning it into gold and most in Anandtech were in 6th - 12th grade in the mid to late 90s.

edit: actually, that's not quite fair... it's not shitty lyrics but by far not great.

no, sorry. not me. i think they're fucking awful... almost on par with nickelback, trapt, and the like.
