No one calls the cops, insurance details are exchanged, i smirk at the guy and he smirks back at me because the ladies being a bitch we both know it. I even see he is a member of the same gun range I go to, so i figure hes probably an alright guy. We all go on our merry way. I didnt even call my insurance co since I figured there was no need to.

2 days later, his insurance call me up. They say he claims i hit his car into the ladies car and that he is having headaches and neck pain.. >:/ &%*$#$

I looked the guy up, he has several Misdemeanors for theft, concealing a weapon, operating without a license a couple of times etc etc. Real winner. Anyway, just wanted to rant. Guess I should go ahead and call my insurance company now like I should have done before..

FTL!

Sure. The ending of the story was rather uneventful, much like mpitts'. I simply told the calling agent that I had just arrived home, the old hag's account of the accident was categorically false, that I had not spoken with my insurance company yet, and that I wasn't saying another word to them.

I called my insurance company up (USAA FTW) and explained to them exactly what happened. They said they'd take care of everything and they did. I never heard another thing about it, nor did my rates ever go up.

Sorry there wasn't more of a dramatic climax to the story.

Where is the leap of logic that you speak of? There are plenty of nice peeps that I have met at the range. I've yet to meet an asshole there.

The guy even told me he "probably wouldn't" call his insurance company on it.

Thats where the FTL comes in. My naivety.

Possession of a firearm by a felon is against the law. If he indeed a felon, you can do something.

I don't advise this, but if you want revenge, next time you see him firing at the range, call the police and tell them.
 
Oh I would love to do such a thing, but he doesn't have any Felonies. Just misdemeanors. Plus its just my assumption that he is a member of the same gun range as I am, since he had a sticker for it in his windshield. He may or may not own any guns.

Freudian slip while discussing Romantic Paul aside 🙂P), what makes you think that everyone at a gun range is of high character? They certainly don't screen membership applicants for this. "Polite" and "trustworthy" are two entirely different concepts. I've met some nice people on the street (and gun ranges) too, but I wouldn't necessarily trust any of them.

And clearly you have met an asshole from your range...I believe his name is Romantic Paul. Born 1975, to be precise.

So yes, your naivety FTL... who contested that?

I don't think everyone from the gun range is of high character. Initial conversation with him and his mentioning that he wouldn't call anything in had me thinking he was ok. My first assumption was not that he was going to try and "meat me" like he is trying to now. My bad, lesson learned for sure.

Indeed, I have now met an asshole from my range. Stop tearing my posts apart 😛
