3.7 amd64 san seems to be running a little hot

My 3.7 san core is running 37c at idle. Water cooled with dangerden block and pump. RBX waterblock and the 145gph pump, artic silver compound. Any ideas why my idle is so high? The stock fan was about 40c at idle.

If it is actually 3.7 GHZ, which COULD be true since your on water (you'd still have to have a miracle chip) , then its not too hot at all....

No way on earth would a 3700+ San Diego be able to reach 3.7Ghz on water, you need cascade or LN2 to do that, and not to mention an FX57 for its better yields 😉

Hey it might be a miracle chip that can do like 3.1 on air. Then when you add water and a lot tttttttttttttttt of luck, it MIGHT happen..

I haven't overclocked at all. Im getting ready to and i wanted to check if 37c at idle was too hot. I ran cpu burn-in for 3 hours, it only went up 1c. Think im good for some moderate overclocking, i have low goals. I would like to run a 2.6 ghz. I read the sticky "How to overclock amd64" but i don't really want to find my max, or even 95% of max. I have OCZ ddr 533 plat, dfi ultra 4-d board, and a 2.2ghz san core. If any knows good setting for this board to get to 2.6ghz, and some good memory timings/mhz and the fsb speed i would love to know.

and yes your are talking to a total overclocking newbie🙂

thank you for your help.

Might just be the sensors. My X2 runs at 40 degrees Idle stock, and 65 full load. I'm pretty sure its not running that hot 🙂 .

I'm on air.

sorry, guess i taking the thread off topic. Thank you for answering my question. The idle is a bit high, but under full load the temp is ok. Guess Im good to go. I will re-post my over-clocking question in a new thread.
