Do the 3.6 Catalysts REQUIRE DX9 or am I OK sticking with DX8.1?

Where do I get the 'driver cleaner' program I hear people mentioning so I can do a thorough cleaning before the upgrade?

Thanks Mem. Anybody have an answer to the DX question?

Just install DX9,it won`t do no harm in 99% of cases and you don`t need a DX9 video card to install it, also it`s backwards compatible with older DX games.
