Hey, I read in a previous post of mine that there are several of you guys who own 3.06 processors and you have them jacked up to 3.5 ghz? Well, I'm trying to get there myself! Currently I have overclocked to 3.41 GHz, and in BIOS its set to 149 Frequency. Here is my specs:

Intel P4 3.06 GHz, 533MHz
Asus Motherboard P4S800D
Stock Cooling(4 cooling fans)
1GB DDR PC-3200 Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed
ATI Radeon 9800 XT
WD 36 gb SATA 10,000 RPM hard drive...

I havn't messed with the voltage or anything else, just frequency... any help would be awesome! Thanks

Sohrab, not one of them hit 3.5ghz on default voltage. If you want to go higher, your only choice is to raise your vcore.

Dude you don't need 2 threads for the same thing on the forums. The mods should and probably will lock this thread because you're going to clutter up the forums. Just edit your original post or bump it with a follow-up question or something.

Good luck overclocking. Make sure you run Prime95 now and then to make sure everything's stable. Your memory should be great for increasing the FSB which I can see you've already done.

Sorry, I'm new to the forums and wasn't quite sure of the rules. however, this topic is basically just to get some feedback from people who have the same processor of me.

Okay, Myocardia... I'm gonna enable the VCore thing and put up the frequency by 1 or 2... we'll see how that effects it. I'll be back in a minute!

Oops. Someone forgot to tell my 3.06 that it couldn't play at 3500 while running default voltage!!! HeHeHe.

Been doing it since day one, and that's NOT using the stock heatsink fan. I'm only using a Coolmaster IHC-L71 Silent fan model. I'm a quiet freak. The stock fan was too loud for me!! It will run Prime 95 torture test forever at 3500. It will do 3600 with the stock fan. Idles around 37C and hits 59-61C running torture test.

Just sign me One Happy Camper.

okay, so even at 148fsb(3.41GHz) my computer still can't handle it. Ran the torture test in Prime95 and it crashed... this sucks... I see all these people on here who are doing 200+fsb's!!! Do they have extra cooling or what? How come mine sucks so bad? =[

It's very frustrating.

What's the s-spec on your processor? Does it support HT? If so, have you seen what it will do with it turned off?

Here's my 3.06Hz SL6PG with HT turned off. Text With HT enabled the overclock is not nearly as good.

Yah, it does support HT. I think all 3.06's have the same S Spec? Anyways, what are you computer specs? Do you have stock cooling? ram, etc?? And what is your FSB set at? All the info you can give me would be great! Thanks

Daaavo, would you mind if I contacted you via ICQ or email? I really would like to talk to someone with the same processor as mine who has achieved what I'm trying to achieve... If not, that's cool... if yes, hit me up on ICQ, 93665589
or mail me: sohrabm@comcast.net

or just post here! :)
