2years banned?

Bluga

Banned
I was just wondering why 2years got banned? I was about to trade with him, is he on the not wecomed list? Thank you.

Yes I looked up the traders to avoid list but "jester1176" is not listed??

I'm selling him a $400 digital camera and he said he'll pay $200 upfront, is he trying to pull off the scam after he recevies it?

Do either one of you have Heat? For something like that, I'd use an escrow service since you don't know the person. But most of all, if the mods saw fit to ban him, I'd pass on the deal. Why take a chance?

Once you have been banned you arent welcome back under a new user name. It is a violation of the forum rules to create a new account and return, even if its a temporary ban. So his violations add up. He didnt necessarily get banned in the Forsale forum, as it may have been in Off Topic or another forum where he caused enough grief to be terminated.

same question here.
I did trade with him yesterday.
Heatware checked out
not on bad traders list
sent paypal.
After thread was locked I sent him an e-mail saying whats up?
This morning i recieved a credit back from paypal.
Still waiting to hear from him but comments on credit were temporary refund.
Why was he banned?

Usually. From what I gather, there are numerous exbanned members who aren't shy about letting people know that they're back. Dezign comes to mind as an example.

Ausm: Back up your statement with either a link or a direct quote from the Rules.

NOT True.
Show me in the forum rules where it states this.

Bleep

Nope. All he has to do is claim that he never received the product and Paypal will try to take the money if it's in your account. I don't know why he was banned but if it's because he was a troll I would be worried if I were you. If it's just because he said or did something stupid you may be OK. That's why I said I wouldn't take the chance.

That's the safest thing to do but you'll never be able to use paypal again if the first scenario does happen.

so what your saying is if someone were to pay via paypal and then claim that they never received the item they could dispute this and paypal would put a $$$ hold on your account for the dispute amount? somehow that does not seem right... where on the paypal site does it say that?

if you are shipping something like a $400 camera, ship it with delivery confirmation/signature required... so your ass is covered

Exactly how it works. Always ship to a verified address with some sort of Delivery Confirmation, tracking, and/or Signature Confirmation.

I am at work so I just did a quick search

did you actually read the PayPal Buyer Complaint Policy? Paypal wont put a hold on your account without first contacting you, as long as you have proof that the item was shipped you are fine. If the user has a problem with the item as a result of shipping, they would take it up with the UPS/FedEx/USPS etc... There policy does not cover not-as-described goods.

That is a lie. They just put a hold on my account because someone refunded me $10 that I had sent two days earlier. They held it for three days and never contacted me.

Yes, I read the policy.
He asked a general question without specifics as to the shipping address being verified address. My answer was also a general answer.
If in fact the person was banned for being a troll, I would not trust him as I stated. If he was in fact banned for something else, he is probably safe as I also stated. It wouldn't be the first time we read about someone on the FS/T forum being paid for an item, shipping the item and then the buyer filing a claim. This seller seems naive and possibly stoked that he found a buyer for a $400 item.
As I understand it, Paypal's policy is as follows:
If the seller ships to a verified (confirmed) address and can provide proof of shipment (as far as I know they don't spell out what proof is) he is safe. But we don't have these details and we obviously have an inexperienced seller.

You had a valid argument right up to that point.
