2xP3 866 MHz heat question

I have a dual system with 2xP3 866 MHz processors. They currently hover around 40C/102F while under 100% load (RC5). Got Golden Orbs on them. What I am wondering is this typical? Hotter/colder than average? At what point do heat become a factor with these processors? I currently only have a front case fan and the PSU fan. Should I make the investment and put in another 80mm fan directly under the PSU? I have some 92mm fans but it would require drilling new mouting holes. Suggestions?

Hmm, that seems right.. my 2 850 gets 41C and 933 gets 42C with generic fan/sink..

MSI 6321 (694D-Pro A) pretty slick board if you ask me. Only after they got some of the BIOS bugs worked out in the earlier days. Rock Solid and damn quick with some memory tweaks.

the reason I ask is for 2 reasons..

Does your mb use socket thermistors(i think it does), and if so, you want to watch those temps during summer. IF they pass 50C "reading" temp, you may get some instability issues(due to socket-thermistors reading less than core temp).

Yeah it does use the socket thermistors. What is the maximum recommend for P3 866 processors?

If you were reandig core temps, something like 75-80C. But since its socket thermistor, i would be very wary of past 50-55C temps.
