2x7900 gt in sli questions

So I figured a way so I could send my card away for Step Up and still have a card to run on while im waiting.
Im just gonna buy another one.
The bioses are different , so with a quick bios flash I should be able to run them in sli, correct?

Im also planning running this on OCZ 520w Modstream.
I would think this would be enough considering I've heard people running 2x7800 off them. The 7900 require less power?

The cards no longer need to have the same BIOS with the newer drivers.

That PSU should be good enough as long as you don't have a lot of extra hard drives. It powers two 7800GTs for me with no problems.

They are also clocked differntly, It will just run both at the slower speeds?
Or do they run @ their respective speeds?

From what I understand, SLI operates the same way as RAM. The setup will run at the speed of the slowest component.

So for example, if you had a 7800GT and a 7900GT running in SLI, the 7900GT will run at the 7800GT speeds.

But you CAN't have 7800GT and a 7900GT in SLI cause of the different cards. A 7800GT mush be paired with a 7800GT and a 7900GT with the same.

It doesn't matter if the bios's of the 7900GT's are different, just as long as their both 7900GT's.

Ok i'll take this question one more step up.
Could I run a BFG 7900 oc with a EVGA 7900 CO SC in sli?


And ya, I know enought to know the 7800 and 7900 cant run in sli, they need same gpu chip.

The only differnce between say a bfg and a evga is a differnt bios?

Would the sli bridge etc match?

Are they both 7900GT's? If yes, then it'll work with the 80's drivers. (or higher, when that comes)
