Hello,

I ordered a 128GB DDR5 (2x64GB) CRUCIAL kit before checking that the Asus X670E Pro WiFi officially only supports 48GB per slot and 192GB in total.

In fact, when you order a 2x48GB DDR5 kit, it clearly states that it is compatible with Ryzen 7000, and the 2x64GB kit is compatible with Ryzen 8000 and above.

I still tested the 2x64GB kit on my motherboard with an expo profile.
I ran an OCCT test for 30 minutes and pyprime, and there were no crashes.
My CPU is ryzen 9 7900.

I suppose BIOS updates must have improved memory support. Potentially, the motherboard could support 4x64GB, but I don't have a second kit to test.

Do any of you have experience with 4x64GB kits on x670?

I have 4x64GB VColor 6400C32 in a B850M Mortar board. I tossed the ram into my test bench, an X670E Aorus Master to see how it did with a 9950X I picked up on warehouse deals that seems to have a good sample IOD/IMC. The B850M + 9950X3D won't do 256GB at 6400, but the 9950X on the X670E will without a sweat due to the improved IMC quality.

I think the support actually comes from the agesa updates, so as long as the bios/agesa is current support is there. I think the problem is a lot of brands don't go back to older models and revise the spec sheet for this kind of thing.

Yep, many parts NOT on QVL work perfectly fine, and those on the QVL at a lower rated speed may work at higher speeds.
