2Way Satellite is here

there is now hope for those who could not have broadband 🙂

Not that I am deprived of it.

The thing about it is AdamK47 - 3DS, that those who will get this are those who are deprived of fast internet all together, and are stuck with phone line. Those who are not playing games anyway. So satalite too will suck too, but I don't look at it so negitivly, I look at it as a step ahead. So, I still can't play online games yet, but I will have very sweet transfer rates.

Unfortunatly, I do live in Canada, and who knows how long until I can get it. 🙁

I'd be happy to pay $70 a month for 500K. I pay almost $30 for my 56K dial service, & I'm lucky to get 52K.

Viper GTS

still a bit too pricy for my tastes.. guess I'm stuck w/ 28.8 at home until cable and DSL improve... grr... being on campus spoils everything.. T1........

when can i get it outside a compaq...... thats what matters to me....

screw installation.... i damn well know i can do that myself..

Hmm, Iam paying 20 bucks CAND right now for internet, and that in CAD would be 105...that is nasty. 🙂

😉 I currently pay $40/CDN for cable (alebit, crappy cable), and would be hard pressed to search any deeper into my pockets unless the improvment in bandwidth came without the degredation of latency.

This is only a good option for those who have no other broadband options. Latency, as Adam mentioned will probably be pretty bad, but it is a lot better than a modem when it comes to transfer rates.

If I only had a modem I would definitely look into this. The key will be whether they have some sort of TOS that caps your bandwidth or puts download restrictions on your service.
