Story

Should be some exciting stuff.

This is today, right? Is there any TV coverage that any one can find?

Righth in the subtopic. On FoxNews and MSNBC right now. The rocket itself is said to seperate and begin its accent to space in about an hour. Right now it just left the ground with the plane to take it to it's altitude.

On MSNBC they were talking about if something went wrong that the nose of the rocket could come off so the pilot could escape, but the likely hood of that happening tumbling in the air at the speed of who knows what might not be likely.

It's also interesting that they have the equivalent weight of 3 people in the rocket so that tourism could start to go in space. Their looking for $200k a ticket for a couple of minutes in space. The one thing they need to do with space travel is allow for mistakes to happen and for people to be able to escape the craft safely. So far it's been all or nothing and we all know you aren't succesful 100% of the time.

That roll was insane. The report said he was doing 2,000mph vertical during the roll. I think I would have blown chunks and passed out. That guy is one hell of a pilot.

This was/is Rutan

Aerospace designer Burt Rutan, with more than $20 million in funds from Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen, secretly developed SpaceShipOne and is well ahead of two dozen teams building X Prize contenders around the world.

John Carmack is with Armadillo

The ship is going for the X Prize now with a different pilot.

If successful this will mean all the Elites in the world will get to travel to space.

Branson, Hanks, Speilberg, Lucas, Berman, and on and on.

True, I didn't say all Elites are bad. I wouldn't mind being able to spend $208,000 for a short space flight like it was $2.
