Parents bought a Toyota Yaris GS 1l.

Great price and mileage were the main things.

2002 Model Red colour, 3 doors, 5 manual, 1litre (lol but it will be economical).

Price was £5k ~ $8.5k but mileage was a stonking 2753 when we bought it.

It is a pretty good car imo. I thought it would be completely cack to drive. But the 1l 16valve does a good job for what it is. Off the mark in gear 1 isn't bad. Just 3 and 4 you need to get the revs up to get going. But not as bad as I tought. I was driving a Toyota Carina 2l before and that was pulling away pretty fast when I wanted it to.

The 3 doors is definatel not my choice but the car was a great price. The car was bought for £8.3k so we saved a lot of £££ and the car has little mileage on it.

The inside is definately better then the old car I drove in. Less noisy also.

Nice to drive a car that hasn't had 100k miles on it and is at least some what recent! I'm use to driving old cars that have a lot of milage but were cheap to buy. Hell my last car I drove was £500 ~ $850 but lasted me well.

WTF is a Yaris? You need to make it easy for us morons in the U.S. who only know Camry, Celica, 4Runner, Corolla, etc.

Where is ornery when you need him?

He will tell you that you NEED to have a 4500lb boat with a V8 in it!

you should realise.. most ATOT ppl dont know what's going on outside the US.. much less outside their city.

You got a good deal on the Yaris.. someday when i visit europe i will have to rent / buy soemthing like that just to get around the continent.

The carina was a dog if I remember right, but even so the Yaris isnt bad.. I like the looks and for its price its a cute little thing..

Though if I had my choice I would have taken an MG over the Toyota.. .

How much HP does she have.. I would say about 70 for the 16v.. (normal 8v are like 55hp)

For the record, I would never drive one of these. It's gotta be like driving a riding mower.

When petrol goes for a liter what we pay for a gallon.

You would sing a different song....;)

Whoops didn't realise that you didn't get either cars in the states.

Yup looks exactly like so, but my Carina was older and the older shape thent he one in that pic.

MG over Toyota? Yeah man anyway but my mum bought it to drive around in and just be economical. And save some £££ also. We could buy an MG but wouldn't be worth it to spend that much on a car from my mums point of view. Also needed the back seats.

You hit the nail on the head. Anyone fancy paying 75p ~ $1.27 a LITRE?!! Can't do much about the cost of petrol but this car is apprently one of the most economical to drive in England.

If it was my choice I wouldn't have picked this either. Saved up more and got a 3litre BMW :D but that is at least 3x as pricey and would have a fair few miles clocked on it at that. Probably be nearer 4x with a half decent low mileage one. You don't often find cars with less then 3000miles on it selling 35% less then what it cost.

Koing <- happy with somewhat new car to drive instead of 10yr+ cars!

In the future, hopefully, hybrids and other energy sources will be more readily available. Until then, I'm going to keep driving my V6, 200hp, 15mpg gas-guzzler. :)

4.3L V6 Oldsmobile Bravada w/AWD. 15 was just an estimate, I've never actually figured it out, but I'm sure its right there.
