2nd drive using 40 wire ide vs. 80 wire W/ultra66??

I just install a second hard drive to my promise ultra66 card strictly for backing up my main drive using Drive Image 5.. Ultra66 card has two slots for ide connections, main drive is on first and back-up HD on second.. I didn't have a 80 wire ide cable at the time so I used a 40.. now at boot up it tells me "Warning, using a 40 wire cable will cause the ultra66 card run at 33" .. is this pertaining to only the back up drive with the 40 wire ide to run at 33 and the main with the 80 wire to run at 66 or will it cause both HDs to run at 33???
