Here's all it says in CCC under "Graphics Hardware":

[begin]
Graphics Card Manufacturer Built by ATI
Graphics Chipset Radeon X1900 CrossFire Edition
Device ID 7249
Vendor 1002

Apparently, Windows sees both display adapters, but CCC doesn't? And yet, I'm able to enable CrossFire... So, CCC sees the 2nd card, but is somehow confused?

Doesn't look like it, whats your CPU score anyway, mine is 6018 CPUMarks the last time I ran 3dm05 back in March I guess? I only have my Crossfire Edition card showing in CCC, and why are you concentrating so much on 3Dmark system info? I'm going to guess mine reads similar, and I don't have the time to run it today.

Did you try running different AA levels in 3Dmark? Crossfire enabled/disabled? How about installing some games and testing?

So is everyone here saying that nothing I'm seeing about display hardware information in CCC or Windows or 3DMark is abnormal?

My CPU score in 3DMark is around 4100. Is that a bottleneck-type score? I only have the free version so I guess it doesn't allow you to adjust AA settings?

I suppose I could install more games, but I'm afraid the results will be similar to what we saw with USM.

And yes, the cable seems to be in the only way it will physically fit in the slot. The monitor cable is the one closest to the DVI port, etc, etc, etc. Is it even possible to connect the thing incorrectly? How does one plug a male connector into a male connector?

Perhaps a good CPU OC will fix everything...

I tried FRAPS on a small section of Ultimate Spider-Man (only game currently installed on my comp) at 1920x1200 resolution.

Here's what I got:

Xfire enabled, 14X AA -- 23.044 FPS
Xfire enabled, 2X AA -- 22.956 FPS
disabled, 6X AA -- 22.882 FPS
disabled, 2X AA -- 24.138 FPS

To me, this says that my 2nd card really isn't being detected by Catalyst, but what do you guys think? What else can I do?

If crossfire wasn't enabled/working the 14xAA option wouldn't even be available. As two cards are required in order to do 14xAA

Still searching for answers... Does anyone know of any diagnostic tools that would tell me if the two cards are talking properly?

*Crossfire is avalable in CCC...both cards must be recognized(as mentioned).
*Fraps and rivatuner allow you to monitor framerate (as mentioned) Performance is the obvious diagostic performance test. You can enable/disable crossfire as well as force different levels AA/AF in the Control Panel. You have tried 3dmark05 and Ultimate Spiderman, not exactly an extensive benchmark suite, and 3dmark being the free version doesn't allow for different settings. Surely you have some mainstream games to install if you have built a Crossfire rig(as mentioned), you've spent a couple days beating the same dead horse, surely you could have done some serious benching by now, not to mention playing some <gasp> games with your new rig.

*There are a ton of Crossfire benchmarks...compare your system to other similar systems.

*Check your driver settings, are you familiar with Catalyst drivers?

*Stop wasting your time and get on with it! :)
