Sorry 4 late reply dear. Yes I have swapped them whatever card is there on E4 lane is showing running on x8. The CPU is TR 1950x it has 3.0 64 lanes.

I am really frustrated.

However there is one thing i noted. Could the reason be Power saving feature of any kind? Pls refer the attachmentsScreenshot_2.jpgScreenshot_3.jpg

1950x has 60 PCIe lanes but should be able to support at least 2 x16.

If you suspect power saving affects the speed, why not change the power plan to high performance and see?

Also try to contact MSI support or join MSI forum.

Do you have a nVME?
Sometimes they eat pci-e lanes and will make slot 1 into an 8x.

3 cards gtx660 and 2 2080 ti
Wait you have 3 video cards?
That is your problem, you populated all your slots, and its making your 16x run at 8x.

60 lanes total means that Total.
You board will use up lanes for things like nVME, Wifi, and other on board stuff.
60 lanes does not mean you have all 60 lanes to just the PCI-E.

Remove all the NVME's you have minus the one located where slot 2 is.
Remove the 660GTX.

Recheck to see if the board will now run the 2 slots in 16x.

I think your 660GTX is forcing your bottom 16x to run in 8x, or a nVME in Slot5 if u have one there.

BIOS update will kill your SATA RAID 0? Really? Even if the BIOS probably will be reset after the update, all you need is a simple reconfiguration.

And as what aigomorla has said, it could be that your 660GTX and nVMe (if you have any) are making 2nd 2080ti running at 8x.

Dear All

I removed the gtx 660 but still it is showing running at 8x in bios (attached) and GPU-Z. Really frustrating

There is no nvme HDDs all other pcie slots are vacant. The Raid which I have setup is SATA raid using 2 Samsung SSDs. In the later bios versions sata raid is removed so it doesnot support raids anymore but i have not checked the very later ones.
Regards
Manish

Later I realised that my PCI Express power connector is not connected and it is vacant now I connected it with PCI e power cables coming from the power supply and I was very much hopeful this time that yes I think this is the problem and when I turn on my PC it still shows running at X8.
I did posted this problem in MSI forum also but I I have not gotten any reply till yet.

I think I have to physically take it to MSI service centre.
