Not sure about it but for 69.98 it would make a good gift or a spare for the car glove box...

I picked this up today in store. They didn't have one of this model on display, nor any tags indicating that they carried them. However, the sales guy knew they had a few in "lockup".

The camera is pretty nice for the money. It would not detect the Compact Flash card I bought for it:(. So I was only able to take a few low res pictures with the built in memory at a Medieval Fair. The few pics I took of my son in low light outdoors with no flash turned out better than I expected. In fact, using the flash made the picture too bright to see.

The menu system is decent and functional. The camera has an "Apex" like feel to it. In fact the batteries it comes with are "Apex" brand.

Overall, for the money this camera is pretty cool. I should mention that the in store price was higher (around $105), but I got a pm to their website without even asking.

I will post some pictures after I take some higher res ones.

It's interesting because this camera is made by Apex. :)

Digitrex = Apex.

Yeah, after posting I read the review and wasn't too shocked to find out it was an Apex.

Now to figure out how to hack it since it's an Apex:)!

According to the review linked by kondrag above the MP3 aspects of this camera are so lame, as the reviewer puts it:

"So let's just pretend the MP3 mode doesn't exist, shall we?"

sad because this detail actaully caught my attention as well.

I picked up one of these at the Schaumburg, Illinois OfficeMax. They had none on the shelf, but they did have them in back. And they honored the web price.

I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas present. I had originally bought a refurbed HP Photosmart 120 for the same price from Computer Geeks, but I figured I would take a chance on this one. (I was astonished at how lousy the 120 performed.)

I took a few test pictures with this unit and they turned out okay.

I had a problem downloading photos because the CD that came with this camera didn't seem to have the drivers on it-- I had to download them from the company's web site.

Not a bad deal for the price.

For those of you that have gotten this camera:

How big is it?

How good a quality are the pictures when taken under the digital zoom?

Does the camera have built-in flash?

Thx

The camera is about as big as most of the other "normal" sized digital units out there. That is to say, it's not as compact as the Canon S45, for example.

One of the first things I noticed was how light it is. Mostly plastic, to be sure, but it still seems to do okay.

Yes, it has a flash.

I never use digital zoom. That's why they invented PhotoShop. :)

Complete details and photos at www.officemax.com and search for item 20672416.

I picked one up today from behind the counter in Raleigh. Looks OK, but I later found an Olympus D380 on OD's clearence shelf for $73 after a $15 coupon . My guess is the Olympus will be the better camera - now I need some SM cards.

Yeah but I have to develop kodak cameras, and this is for website pictures (fires / car wrecks), so with this I don't have to pay any $, no scanning, and no time to wait.
