2m CAT 5 LAN Cable $0.50

7' YELLOW CAT 5 LAN CABLE #

If you need some short CAT 5 patch cords and don't mind bright yellow jackets, this looks like a good deal. They do have a $15 minimum order, but they have lots of other goodies in case you don't need 30 patch cords. The web site is a bit less than specific about shipping costs. It says the shipping charges will be added at time of order, but my order confirmation said shipping will be added later. Hopefully I won't get dinged too bad.

They also had a pretty good deal on a Comair/Rotron Major DC 12V 6.75" 235cfm fan at $12.50 ($9.95 if you want a dozen). I didn't list this one separately because these can be had on eBay for about the same price if you're persistent.

If you plug that fan into your mainboard, it will roast it. That thing will pull too much wattage for the traces on the mobo, and it will toast the fan header. cut the power line and connect to a hard drive connector.

<< Those fans plug into the motherboard, not the PSU, right? >>

Not if you want your motherboard to survive. If you're really lucky you might get 0.5A current from the motherboard fan connector. This fan pulls 2.26A.

This fan is only for those who don't mind cutting holes in their computer case -- it's 6.75" (about 170mm) diameter -- and don't mind the sound of a near gale force wind coming from their computer. The average case might have a hole or two designed for a 80mm fan. I've never seen a consumer case that would accomodate one of these fans without some serious modification. This fan is large and it's much noisier than the average person would dream of putting up with, but it's built like a tank and puts out some very serious air volume at fairly high pressure. In other words, fanatics only need apply. (No pun intended.)
