Interesting campaign being run by Nokia started today. They published an app with the sole purpose of people tweeting at Instagram to port their app to Windows Phone. Seems this is a big deal. Not sure why I've never used Instagram.

Why does it seem like Nokia is pushing the Windows Phone platform more than Microsoft themselves are? Seems like a lot of people want to see this app on Windows Phone (and probably Blackberry).

I don't really "get" Instagram, but if a port to WP8 would help sell phones, then I'm behind it. It can't possibly be complicated.

Sometimes I get the same feeling, as well. Nokia is pushing Windows Phone hard, and they're actually starting to benefit from it a bit. They are dominant in the Windows Phone sector like Samsung is dominant in the Android sector, and they've broken into double digit market share in a few countries now.

I really wish Nokia would sell more phones, they have the simplest lineup of all the OEMs who really have some of the worst naming schemes around.

Lumia 520, 620, 720, 820, and 920. And for 2013, it'll probably be 530, 630, 730, 830 and 930.

When your phone name is easy to remember, it's a HUGE help in marketing.

Don't forget the 822 for their cdma 820. The while lineup makes sense. Like if they make their Verizon 920 the 922. I really like the 720 too. In fact a lot of their lower end devices are surprisingly capable at great off contract prices..

T-Mobile is apparently getting the Lumia 521. The 520 MSRP is about $180, so I'd expect T-Mobile to sell it for about $200. Not bad for what you get, honestly.

WP8 needs better phones. I was at best buy today and their lineup is paltry compared to Android. Even the 920 didn't seem impressive compared to the dozen or so Android devices next to it.

What Android phones are you comparing the 920 to? Half the Android phones in a Best Buy are pure crap.

Huh? The 920 is a great piece of hardware.
