2gb OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 $160 shipped maybe $35 less after Rebate

I just got word that the Rebate Center said its not valid for Fry's but still 25 bucks cheaper then all the others after rebate.

How far do these tend to overclock? And will they boot in a DS3 board? I'm thinking about doing my first Core2duo build and am somewhat behind on what works well with what. Thanks for the deal!

I think I'll bite on this one. The price point is good and I don't have to deal with a rebate (though it gets better with a rebate).

Everytime I try to checkout it says "Page can't be displayed". I'd like the deal better if they'd let me order it!🙁

I had the same issue. Then I noticed a link at the bottom of the shopping cart page for the 'Standard Server' in case you get an error during checkout and was able to complete my purchase.

Dangit!

Already ordered some of the Super Talent stuff but would have preferred to have this 800mhz stuff for my new build.

This is a great deal...maybe we will start seeing better RAM prices than we thought.

Micron did announce today that they are having manufacturing problems or were having worries about people wanting their stuff.

Ordered it too. Used the link at the bottom. Got stuck near the end because the exp date of my card was wrong, but there was no error msg.

I'm sure I'll be happy with those...

Nice deal but not as hot as the $129.95 (AR plus shipping) deal Fry's had a few months back for the CL 4-4-4-15 Platinum Edition 2GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400. I sure wish I'd bit on that HOT deal when I had the chance.....

Well, outpost.com very well may not be a National Rebate Participant (called for on the rebate form) ... I'd say rebate is much more likely NOT to work. At $170 shipped this is not such a hot deal, given that this is 2.1V memory (may not work in some mobos ), also it's newegg reviews are spotty. If you're planning to go with e4300, I'd take jump on the Supertalent deal instead.

yeah this is that same stuff that was onsale at fry's for $150.00 after rebate several times 6 months ago. back when ddr2 ram was cheap, and you had to boot your computer with a generic stick of 1.8V ram and then set the volts to 2.1 in the bios then insert this ram and try too boot.
I had a set, but decided against going ddr2 at the time, and sold it to somebody in the UK for like $200.00 shipped, makeing a little money.
I have has several sets of ddr2 since them, all PC5300 or less and they all have done ddr800 or faster no problem.

For anyone using that rebate -- whether from Fry's or elsewhere -- note its "catch": "Rebates postmarked after 10 days of purchase will be denied."

With handling and travel times subtracted, that gives you only a few days to post the rebate. NOT very customer-friendly. So much shorter than most submission windows, they clearly want you to miss their window....

A large PHOOEY to OCZ for their rebate contract.

yeah... I refuse to buy anything OCZ for that reason... they definately don't want you to get their rebate... I just had one refuse a couple of months ago... OCZ sucks the big one. I'll never buy anything from OCZ ever again (and I spend a couple thousand every year on personal computer equipment... i'm such a geek)

Yes I just received mine as well. Even though the rebate is questionable, the price is still much less than anywhere else, so I don't see what there is to complain about. This makes 4Gb for me!! Now I just need vista to use it all up for me.
