2gb Mp3 player $97

Outpost sell it too, as well as its bigger brother 5gb version, there was a post about it couple of weeks ago. There was a link to FW users reviews and they were very unhappy with this player. Just FYI

Yeah I thought about the quality of it, I have 30 days to return it if I feel like it's not worth my 100 bucks. I'll play with it for a bit to see how it does, thanks for the heads up

This is the previous discussion here on AT.
The 5GB version is still $149.99 on Outpost.

I was actually considering this player, but some posts on FW sounded outright scary. Seems like there is nothing going for this unit except the price.

I didn't see the FW post, but I bought the 2GB model Sunday at Fry's and I'm very happy with it so far.

I definitely wouldn't buy it for the regular price, but for $97 (or $99 that I paid) it's a great deal.

BTW, FW is about the last place I'd trust for reviews or any kind of technical advice. 😛

I have come to find that with mp3 players. The more you spend, the better you get. I have a 128mb no name brand that isn't that great. My Archos jukebox is allright, but is no ipod, my resonance mp3 car stereo pales in comparison to my new alpine. But if you like it or wanna try it, go for it.

I had a no - name 128 mb one that crapped out on me in litteraly 2 months. Spend a little more money and get a name brand one IMO.

does this one use CF card inside? if yes, is it possible to take the card out, or say, exchange the card?

thanks

No, it uses 1/8" PCMCIA drive, like Ipods do. Drives are made by Toshiba.

I have a Bantam BA150 (I think) that crapped out on me a couple months after I got it on eBay. Sure, I got it used, but you think it would last a little longer than its 1 year warantee. Be wary of Bantam.
