2GB (2x1GB) stick for P4 overclocking rig?

you're not going to get very good overclocking ram in increments of 1gb. their lowest cas is 3 and highest speed i've seen is ddr400. you're much better off with 4 x 512MB sticks of el platinum rev 2.

just my 2 cents.

Ok what about DDR2? Is that even a safe route in terms of investment? What about PCI E and vid cards? I need something at least equal to that of a 9700PRO.

First of all, why 2gb? Secondly, why something equal to the 9700?

I suggest a gig of good DDR2 ram and a nice PCIe graphics card like a 6800GT or even an X800XTPE if you can afford one.

My needs are a bit different from a gamer's needs that's why I need the 2GB. This is mostly for audio and video processing with the occassional gaming in mind. I'm happy enough with the 9700pro on my AMD rig.

I have 2 kingston kvr400/1gr I gig modules and they oc to 220 on an MSI Neo Platinum. But good thing about the P4 is the divider so you can keep the memory at sync if it does not want to oc 🙂
