2GB(2x1GB) set that'll reach 300MHz?

It's best to use dividers...

Now, the current ram won't really make 300 MHz at all... So it's best to just buy ddr500 ram like G.Skill DDR500 HZ's and use a memory divider.

There are no 2 GB kits guaranteed to hit DDR600, but i imagine the 3-3-2 DDR500 kits from OCZ & Mushkin might get close.

Honestly though, you'll likely have to run a divider, which really doesn't hurt things much anyway.
Just get some DDR400 2-3-2, & use the 133 divider.
Or get one of the 3-4-3 (or 3-4-4) DDR500 kits G.Skill, OCZ, or Mushkin have & use the 166 divider.

Ah. So do you think if I got a DDR500 kit I would see a good enough boost in performance for the $100-$120 it would end up costing me after I sell my current ram?

You will only feel a performance boost if you utilize more than 1 GB of RAM.

If you don't run any programs/games that use 1 GB +, then you'd never notice any improvement.

Just use the dividers, unless you need the 300mhz RAM for an ego boost or something 😛 Low(ish) latency 1GB sticks will do just as well as faster RAM with crappy timings, at least, well enough that you'd never notice the difference playing video games.

Have you heard of the Team Xtreem Cronus - Micron based memory? That's one of the most likely to hit 300mhz. Certainly not guaranteed, but it's one of the better bets.

Yeah, right now I'm going through a BF2 cycle
It's not a cycle - it's an addiction.
Once you admit that to yourself, you can start the healing process 😉 😉
