I didn't even know this car existed lol. 308-mile range, not bad!

The EV muscle car concept seems universally hated in the Youtube comments! Has fake exterior exhaust noise too...

For $299 a month (plus tax and fees), you can get a 2024 Charger Daytona R/T for two years with a mileage cap of 7,500 miles per year. Considering this car has all-wheel drive and 496 horsepower, that's a tempting deal.

There are some caveats, of course. For starters, this lease deal is only available in the Northeast United States, from Maine to Virginia. Still, that covers major cities like Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Norfolk. The $299 deal also requires a sizable $4,579 down payment. And once you figure in taxes and fees, that payment will be a bit higher.

keyboard warriors got pissed when the mustang label was used for the mach-e. i hope it's successful. it's a pretty cool blend of old muscle car with new electronics (literally). the fake exhaust note didn't sound terrible, but i wish they had leaned into the motor whine of the EV. that's the "exhaust note" of the EV generation.

I actually really like it! Reminds me of the Kia Stinger concept, which I loved. The Ecoboost Mustang has fake exhaust noise & I personally think it sounds great, so I have no qualms with the Dodge version. $300/mo for a 300-mile, 500-hp AWD EV sounds like a pretty great deal to me! But the Dodge brand has burned me multiple times so I could never do it lol.

I kind of like that fake exhaust sound when the digital robotics like character of that sound kicks in. But it would be good if it is controllable in soundvolume level. At night, nobody needs to hear a tuba exhaust.
One of the worries people in general have is that these EV cars can be too silent. A little soft hum hurts nobody. And for the highway, it is fun to be able to turn on or off that digital exhaust.

A fun thing would be if you can plug in an USB stick or sd card with your own motor sound.
A screaming woman or a screaming man (like for example those bombmen from the game Serious Sam) , or a huge belch, a mooing cow, or a horse (Mustang, clickety clop) as exhaust sound on the highway would be so much laughs.

For example sounding like 1982 & 2010 Tron.

I think it's pretty cool to but judging from the media coverage I've read and watched so far the automotive press is....um...lukewarm on the idea. I wish Dodge would have gone all in like Ford did with the Mach-E though. No frunk, still has a drive shaft tunnel, and few other things make the Dodge seem half baked. I know Dodge did what they had to do and they don't have the cash on hand like Ford does but....yeah.

Anyway, speaking of the Mach-E. Don't tell Kaido but 2024 was the first time the "fake" Mustang outsold the "real" Mustang and so far 2025 is looking like a repeat but is still to early to tell. This link is an image of Fords year-to-date sales for all its models in 2024. The Mach-E sold 51,745 units and the Mustang sold 44,003.

I believe it...local lots here are filled with Mach-E's & only have one or two Mustangs. I changed my mind after driving one...until I drove the F-150 EV, it was the best electric car I've ever driven! Plus nobody actually calls it a Mustang, so I'll give it a pass :p

What if I told you the only reason Ford named the Mach-E a Mustang was to save the OG? Would you believe me? Dodge is putting a twin turbo V6 in the Charger. The V8 is gone at Dodge but some how the Mustang still lives with a V8. Have you ever wondered why? CAFE standards related to name plates.

Ford told you it was a marketing decision to name the Mach-E a Mustang but was it?

Oh sure...they nuked cars pre-COVID:

Ford to stop making all passenger cars except the Mustang

Consumer demand rules everything:

Dodge has officially confirmed that its highly anticipated internal combustion engine (ICE) muscle car, the Charger SIXPACK, will debut this summer. The news follows an earlier report from MoparInsiders, which first broke the story in November about Dodge accelerating the launch of its gasoline-powered Charger models to meet the overwhelming demand for traditional muscle cars amid growing consumer resistance to electric vehicles (EVs).

Dodge’s decision to accelerate the SIXPACK’s launch reflects strong customer demand for a gas-powered alternative to the all-electric Charger Daytona. This strategy aims to retain the brand’s muscle car heritage while adapting to a rapidly changing automotive market.

Especially because:

Trump administration pauses $3 billion marked for electric vehicle charging stations

Like I said the Dodge SIXPACK is a twin turbo charged V6 instead of the V8.....the rest of your post went off the rails. It's ok though change is a hard thing to reconcile with and it comes very slow.
