Um well, I did pay with paypal so I guess I could retract the thing. Hey who knows I might be able to get this repaired from Powercolor, in like a month or two. I'm using the socket 939 Asus a8n-e and the previous card is the x850xt, which I am using at the moment. Now the reason I was going to buy from this guy is because he had 99% positive and over 100 feedback, normally don't have problems with sellers like that. Unfortunately that was not the case, I just left him some nasty feedback.

Did you try updating your motherboards BIOS for the helluvit. The 1013 includes this note ......

1- Fixed system hangs on POST while installing some PCI-E x16 VGA cards.

There are also 3 differnet PEG Link Mode BIOS settings you may want to play with. PEG Link Mode, PEG Buffer Length, and PEG Root Control. I know it's probably a bad card, but what do you have to lose. Good luck with however you decide to handle the situation.

Well I had called ATI about the card, no need to worry about the BIOS, they told me it was definatley bad but I tried to RMA and thats when I found out my card isn't a true ATI card. I went searching and found out it was indeed a powercolor card then I found out their RMA sucks but I think I can get it done through them, they don't require a receipt. I have to wait longer but I might just have me a nice video card back again

if he advertised a genuine built by ati card on ebay and you received a powercolor one, then you need to report his ass and raise as much hell as you can on ebay.

Okay sorry to bring this up but this just makes me mad. Today I get an email from him, he tells me he wants me to retract the negative feedback I left and he will refund me $75. To me this just sounds really weird, won't refund me fully but will bribe someone to retract a feedback by paying them for a card they sent you that was bad? I mean what is the deal with this, what should I do?

i second this. if the guy was claiming that it was something other than what it really was, then that could be considered fraud..

To me it sounds like it's one of those retail stores that you go to and drop your stuff off to be sold through ebay for a price. They might not have known either, I mean theres no way you cann tell by the card I had to actually chat with ATI and a few pictures of other cards to finally realize it was one. Theres nowhere on the card that says PowerColor, anyone could mistake it for one. But I agree I could use it to my defense. I don't know how exactly, never done anything like that before through ebay.

IMO, the bad feedback you posted will hurt him more than the $75 he is offering. Also, if it was me, I would see the $75 a bride. Who knows, he may have MANY more Bad evals but he bribed the other customers so he would retain postive feedback. Just my opinion on the matter 🙂
