I have scoured the net for a comparison of these 2 cards but fail to find one. Of course i am referring to the 512 bit pro. Does anyone have any idea which performs better? Not interested in dollar value, just performance. Thanks

The 2900pro, 512bit, 512mb version is faster then the 3850 but not as fast as the 3870 stock. This version of the 2900pro is a downclocked 2900xt and in most cases will overclock to xt speeds (which is faster then the 3870).

I researched this yesterday when I found it for 159.00$ at newegg .

Different sites give different results. I guess it depeneds on the driver or game, or how much AA/af they use. In any event for 159.00$ this card is a steal.
