29" Curve vs. 34" Curve (21:9)

Anyone with any info on the 34UC88-B vs. the 34UC98-W? can't find anything on the interwebs...

I looked at them as well and came to the same conclusion, the only difference seems to be the TB port.

What about the new gsync Asus rog 34" 21:9 if you are def going with Nvidia?

Same panel as the Acer. I heard the other Asus ROG monitor had more QA issues than its Acer counterpart but I have no data to back up that claim. Currently when looking that the choices I am hesitant to purchase any of them due to QA issues.

There's a fair chance that all of those five curved 34" >60Hz 1440p superwides are the same panel.

I think this would apply to the rest of the ROG series, Really hope this extends to the UK.

At least the EU we have 2 weeks to return any electronic product bought over the internet, no quibbles.

I'm not convinced that just because they have responded that they have better QA.

Honestly if it were available I would get an ultrawide TN panel 1140p. I have two of them flanking my main monitor and the color shift is not that bad. There is no IPS glow and no ghosting.

well, i went into microcenter and bought myself the LG 34UC88-B. Since I think it looks bad ass, and it supports freesync, this monitor made the most sense to me (being that it's also IPS with 99+% of the SRGB color space is a huge added bonus since I do a lot of photography and photo PP)

Asking LG themselves, they said the difference between the 34UC98-W and the 34UC88-B is the color and the inclusion of thunderbolt ports. Everything else is exactly the same... I do like that flat aluminum finish stand though.. wonder if I can pick that up later on...

Anyways, this means I must retire my beloved 2x20WMGX2 monitors.... these monitors have served me pretty well for almost a decade... awesome photo editing and gaming capabilities, it's really hard to let these go... especially when the alternative of getting a 34" wide screen was to get a 3rd 20WMGX2 monitor... This really pains me 🙁

TFT Central seems to have done some in-depth monitor reviews.

I currently have an Eizo FG2421. This computer is primarily for gaming w/ my son. One goal is to minimize screen response time to under 6.94 ms on average to make 1440 viable. No photo editing. Last month I installed an EVGA 980Ti. G-Sync very important at high resolutions.

I'm considering going to a 27" size (16:9 or 16:10). The monitor is on a standard/typical desk with about an 18"-24" distance from the user.

This is my initial list of possibilities in no particular order (have not had time to check out BenQ nor some others yet) (I believe these are all IPS or IPS variants.)...
Acer XB270HU
Acer XB271HK
Asus PG279Q
Eizo FS2735

Possibly considering a few TN screen models...
Asus PG278Q
DellS2716DG

I think at this close distance from the screen a 34" would be overkill and would overpower my desktop.

I'm running two 27"s on the side of my 34" even though my desk barely has room for them, so you could do that.

the 20WMGX2's are on a dual monitor stand... and I don't think I have the original... But I know I don't have the space for all 3 monitors...
